Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Excellent stay within the family compound. Room was quiet and spotlessly clean. Breakfast alternated every day and was very good. Very good location on a street with several shops and cafes, about 10 minutes walk from the palace and the centre of town.

United KingdomNothing. It was perfect.
Everything. This was our second stay at Hidden Bali Inn and it was just as good as the first. Wayan and Komang are perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble and Komang's cooking is as good as any warung you will try. They really do make you feel at home and.like.you are family. The rooms are kept immaculately clean and are so spacious.

AustraliaThere is no TV but who cares. Privacy of the bathroom can be improved.
It’s a very nice experience living with a local family and understanding the culture and life of local people. Living within nature at the same time all amenities within walking distance. The owner is a very knowledgeable and humble tour driver which was a great advantage for us. Breakfast was delicious. Owner’s wife manages the property very well and she cooks nice food on guests request. In one side you can go to Ubud city centre walking and the other side you can walk to the villages and paddy fields. The place is also easily accessible by car. It was a great experience living there.

MalaysiaI suggest that perhaps the room can be furnished by kettle and tea/coffee facilities.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the The Hidden Bali Inn, Ubud, and I must say it was a truly fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the incredibly helpful and kind Pak Wayan and his wife Komang. The cleanliness of the room was impeccable, as the rooms were spotless and well-maintained. I was particularly impressed by the unique design of the room, which added a touch of elegance to my stay. The accommodations were not only clean but also very comfortable, providing a peaceful and serene. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's convenient location. Being close to the centre of Ubud town made it incredibly easy for me to explore the area. Whether I wanted to visit the historic landmarks or indulge in the local cuisine, everything was within easy reach. The breakfast was a delightful experience as well. The variety of options available ensured that there was something for everyone's taste. The quality of the food was exceptional, and it was a great way to start each day of my stay. Overall, my experience at The Hidden Bali Inn, Ubud was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of the friendly and attentive owner, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, and the convenience of the location made it a truly memorable stay. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Ubud and would definitely choose to stay here again in the future.

SwitzerlandOne could see the person in the bathroom from outside because of the semi transparent door. It is ok for couples but may not be ok for some.
The location is in Ubud central. It is very close to eateries restaurants and shopping streets. It is also very close to Ubud palace. The breakfast was ok. It still exceeded what was expected from a budget accommodation. It had a fruit platter, choice for omelet and toast accompanied with fresh juice, tea and coffee.

GermanyThe parking for the scooters could be optimized a little bit.
My wife and I spent 3 great nights at "The Hidden Bali Inn". We became aware of it through the recommendation of the Bali travel guide by Stefan Loose. All in all, a great family homestay, where the 4 rooms are integrated into a larger and very green complex, which is inhabited and managed by the generations and family members of the host family. The homestay is located a little outside the hustle and bustle of Ubud, but you can reach the centre of Ubud in a few minutes by scooter or on foot. The rice fields can also be reached quite easily from there. Fortunately, we didn't notice any of the noisy traffic in our room. Our room was clean, the bed linen smelled good and the bathroom was very appropriate for a homestay and there was always hot water. The air conditioning also worked well. The host family was more than welcoming! We were able to watch a Kecak performance in the temple across the street on the first evening, where the family members participated. The host mother spontaneously organised tickets for us. She also took care of the laundry service. The host father also works as a tour guide and he gave us all kinds of tips on places to visit around Ubud and Bali. When we asked him for advice on booking ferries for our transfers to Nusa Penida and Gili Air, he promptly offered to organise everything for us with the ferry companies, we only paid for the transfers with the local company - this really helped us a lot. Last but not least, breakfast was freshly prepared every morning with lots of love and served on the chic table on the terrace in front of our room. We had an all-round great stay at "The Hidden Bali Inn" and the opportunity to stay in the middle of a nice and loving family.

SwitzerlandThe bed made noises when you moved - but that's the only thing we could complain about.
This family owned Bed&Breakfast was a highlight of our stay in Ubud. The room is big, has everything you need and is a little bit off the centre. Therefore it is a quiet place but yet central enough. Breakfast is served and freshly made when you want it. Tours and activities (e.g. traditional dance in the temple nearby) can all be booked directly with the family (also highly recommended).

CanadaGees, that's a hard question. I honestly can't think of anything.
Wayan and Komang treat their guests like family and do their best to cater to everything they need - from tours to delicious home-cooked meals to a quiet and beautiful environment in the homestay. It really feels like a place you can rest and rejuvenate and be cared for as well as a really convenient home base for everything that Ubud has to offer.

VietnamEverything about this property is exceptional. I instantly feel welcomed and it was the best sleep I had in Ubud. I believe partly it is due to the overall positive peaceful vibe/energy that the family and the property had. It feels like somewhere in a village but only a few steps away the hustle and bustle of Ubud’s center is there. Located across from a temple and I honestly love it, I enjoyed the music that I could hear and the witnessing of rituals/ of Bali traditions. The bed is super comfortable!
