Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaNOTHING!
Beautiful resort in lush tropical setting with most wonderful staff. Amazing location - close enough for a comfortable walk on the famous and beautiful Ridge Walk, far enough away from the busy city centre for absolute peace and quiet.

South AfricaThe property is situated in a beautiful ravine at the top of Campuhan Ridge. It's filled with beautiful decor and embraces the Balinese architecture. The restaurant and spa are encompassed by nature and bring you into the heart of the forest, with the sounds of birds and the river rushing below adding to the tranquility. The walk along Campuhan Ridge is absolutely majestic, and also the quickest way into town. I recommend walking down to Ubud Center and taking a taxi or shuttle back up. Great service, good food and a wonderful experience.

PhilippinesMinor detail that we did not like is that we had to wait a bit longer to have the hot water for the shower.
The kindness of the staff is one of a kind! Special mention to our driver for our whole stay Radiana “Puto” he made our stay with Lokha a memorable experience! He answered all of our questions about the culture., patiently and always with a smile in looking where to bring us next to find what we are looking for. Restaurant staff are very friendly,, we had our cooking class with Chef Lasiamana, and it was worth it! Amazing to see how all the spices are used just to make a meal and the long process! The resort itself is so lovely, location is perfect and very clean! Thank you very much and will see you on our next Bali trip! Happy new year 🎉

AustraliaThe weight machine in the gym was pretty average but the treadmill and bike were good.
We loved everything. It felt like we were in a beautiful jungle paradise...which we were. The walk to Ubud was a perfect distance on the Ridge walk, so much nicer than driving in the traffic.

AustraliaThe location is relatively remote so it was hard to walk up the hill and explore the streets. Food menu is predominantly western which was disappointing. The sambal was not spicy at all so definitely a sheltered experience if you don't stray from the resort.
Very comfortable stay at the Lokha. The free shuttle service is definitely appreciated to go to the city. The resort is generally very beautiful. The room has strong air conditioning and the bed was comfortable. The pool is not very big but we didn't use it anyway. The staff was always very helpful and attentive.

This is a beautiful big hotel with spectacular valley view, beautiful garden, beautiful swimming pool, quiet & relaxing. During our stay in October, the renovation wasn't completely done, but no noise. We stayed on the 3rd fl in deluxe room. There're 2 elevators to the 1st floor, but you have to go down stairs to the swimming pool, dining area, gym & even more stairs to the yoga area which is by the river.

IndiaThe food was the big disappointment especially the breakfast. It was boring to eat the same stuff with hardly any changes on day to day basis. Overall quality of food served in breakfast was bad. It needs to be improved a lot.
We stayed in the Villas , the room was large and had good amenities. The place was clean and well kept. The staff had remembered our anniversary and set up the room well for us

AustraliaIt's not something that I didn't like but the distance from Ubud center is about 15-20 mins on a scooter motorbike. The first night there we "struggled" (maybe 10mins) to get a ride back, if we had mobile data and one of the local apps for transport it would of been easier but we decided to hire our own motorbike instead for the remainder of our trip.
30ish year old couple and we really couldn't fault The Lokha. The staff were all so friendly and amazingly helpful. The private pool villa overlooking the jungle and river was private and comfortable. the couples spa and massage treatment was the dream in a beautiful private villa finished off with a refreshing drink in a bath prepared with flower petals. loved the egg station in the morning for breakfast and plenty of other tasty options. courtesy golf buggy into town. We would definitely stay again. Thank you Lokha

AustraliaBeds could have been slightly more comfortable and the design of the bath/shower area is flawed (it’s impossible to wash without getting water everywhere)
The staff - they were incredible and went to great lengths to make my wife’s 30th birthday memorable. Couldn’t speak more highly of them. The facilities in general were also great and the whole place is just stunning.

ChileI recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel The Lokha and I was absolutely blown away. The hotel is located in a quiet area surrounded by greenery, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the hotel itself is stunning. My room was spacious and well-appointed, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the view from the bathroom was stunning. I also loved the balcony overlooking the gardens. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. I also had the opportunity to dine at the hotel's restaurant, which was excellent. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The breakfast at The Lokha was also a highlight of my stay. There were so many options to choose from, including fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt and much more. I especially enjoyed the "eggs station" where they cooked the eggs to your liking just in front of you. I was also very impressed with the pest control. I didn't see a single mosquito during my entire stay, even though we were surrounded by greenery. This was a huge plus for me, as I am very sensitive to mosquito bites. We also used the laundry service at Hotel and it was very good. Our clothes were returned clean and pressed neatly. It was a great convenience to be able to have our laundry done while we were staying at the hotel. Thank you very much to the whole team. I will definitely come back next time I visit Bali.

AustraliaMy villa could’ve done with a couple of things. UHT milk or similar in the mini bar fridge would’ve been nice. perhaps something more than two satchets of Nescafé instant coffee maybe a small coffee machine instead (esp in the villas). A few maintenance issues as well, a large chip of wood out of the wardrobe, loose toilet seat & toilet flush button that would become stuck down and a little bit of wear & tear - maybe a little facelift for the room. TV reception isn’t great, but I wasn’t there to watch TV so I didn’t care. A few of the house white towels were a little old as were the complimentary beach towels, frayed edges, light stains etc. complimentary water bottles provided but most people travel with refillable drink bottles can we get water fountains in the rooms & common areas? Reduce plastic bottle waste and also there was no recycling bin in the room. Are the bottles being recycled?
The moment you arrive the staff are like a big warm hug of friendliness & welcoming. Located well away from the hustle & bustle the resort truly feels like an oasis. With spectacular views of the river valley you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. The pool is stunning, daily breakfast is scrumptious, complimentary afternoon tea delicious, gym facilities ok, yoga studio(s) yes studios there are more than one are awesome and my villa was excellent. My villa had the most wonderful garden filled with tropical plants, deep plunge pool and flowing river in the valley (that never smelt) No one goes to the complimentary afternoon tea! It’s free! And delicious. A great pre dinner snack before you jump on the the 4pm complimentary bus into town (another under utilized hotel addition) and take in the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Also don’t use taxis to get into town. Walk up the drive turn left (see sign saying “towards ubud palace”) and walk into town it’s actually quicker than the bus or taxi, it’s far better for the environment and so beautiful, the ridge walk is a bit of a tourist attraction and it’s right there on your doorstep!

United KingdomThere is a free shuttle service that runs to ubud centre but you do have to book in advance to secure a space. The free shuttles only run there and back every 4 hours! I feel every 2 hours would of suited guests better and allowed them to explore the centre more frequency. The hotel does kindly arrange a taxi service for you if you don’t make the free shuttle. The price for the taxi is a fixed rate.
Lovely warm welcome on arrival. We were both greeted by staff members who helped with our luggage, a complimentary drink and cool hand towel were provided while checking in. The room was spacious and clean with a large comfy bed. The rooms were cleaned daily, with bed making and clean towels provided. The breakfast was included in the price when booking, fantastic buffet breakfast with egg making station. Huge choice of foods, including a large range of pastries. Lovely chilled pool area with sun beds where staff will serve you food and drinks to this area. The spa facilities are lovely, we had a facial and shoulder/neck massage, slightly more pricy compared to the centre of ubud but your definitely paying for the experience. We informed the hotel we were attending for a special birthday trip (30th birthday) they arranged for a cake to be delivered to the room on arrival. A very personal touch to our stay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to ubud.
