How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Best hostel so far, great bed, very clean, sockets, curtains, lights, rooftop. You can rent scooter there for better prices, tours and much more. Very nice Staff

I didn't like the smell of the toilet, that happens sometimes it's very strong but the bathrooms are kept clean.
The room is clean every thing is quite .

That there were no towels
The bed is very spacious and there are good curtains and also with plugs. Big Lockers and three toilets with showers for 10 people

The hostel is quite far from everything. But there are some nice restaurants around.
Very clean, comfortable and good looking hostel. Also very social and made some really nice friends here. The staff is really helpful and will help you anytime.

The staff was AMAZING!! I got into a scooter accident in the island and extend my stay. The staff drove me to the hospital and to the boat for free and literally helped me with everything I needed. I’m so grateful because wouldn’t have make it alone. The hostel was clean and the location was good, next to a harbour. There are so many good restaurants super close to the hostel also. You can also rent a scooter at the hostel. I feel lucky that I stayed here. Thank you for everything!

All fine! Just be sure when you catch a ferry to Nusa Penida that you book it to the Sampalan and not to the main harbour in the west. Then you can walk to the Hostel and safe yourself a half hour Taxi ride, because Grab doesn‘t work here.
Everything very new and nicely done. Cool interieur, friendly host.. Reaggae bar in walking distnace and some other cool beach bars/clubs within 5-10min scooter drive. Host even drove us for free to the ferry terminal close by.

The location, staff amability and the hostel itself. It was clean, small but familiar and the staff is very very helpful and friendly. I slept really well here.

This hostel is very nice I stayed there 8 days and it was perfect. The staff is super nice and friendly ❤️ the rooms were very good and the location is perfect. You can rent scooter also! It’s a quiet place if you want to take some time for yourself. Thank you so much the moon Hostel!

Lack of space, not much space to move around. Is eather your bed or One couch at the front desk to be share by all. no windows in your room
The staff is good. Inside looks new.

No breakfast, however there are many options in a walking distance from the hostel.
Clean. Enough privacy. Comfortable. Good vibe. Rooftop terrace was great! The staff arranged for me a snorkelling tour and called the driver to take me to all the famous touristic spots. They also arranged the tickets for me to Bali-Sanur and took me on a motorbike to the harbour. Really helpful.

The shower rooms are all equipped with toilet bowls in a small space. For the less considerate guests who don't bother to close the toilet seat, everything gets wet. Should be stricter with guests, not allowing footwear all the way into the rooms. Would generally help to keep the floor cleaner everywhere as well.
Modern, clean, spacious! Location is quite good as well, with a small beach round the corner and a short walk away in either directions to restaurants and convenience stores. Love the common chilling balcony on 2nd floor, comfortable and airy! The best would be the staff there, always greeting guests with a smile and very helpful with tours and queries. They even helped me find others to co-share a car tour with, saving me money in the process. I was very grateful and left a decent tip when i left. Thank you Moon Hostel for making my trip more enjoyable!

the staff were super nice and helpful! the beds were comfortable and there were good restaurants within 1-5 minute walk from the hostel. they also have free towels, tea and coffee which is nice

The smell of the entire structure, thankfully in the rooms don’t arrive the bad smell
