Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis place is stunning. Located on a yoga path on a hill between the rice paddies, a family run hotel with expensive rooms, a beautiful garden and a pool and generous breakfasts. Add to that a personal super friendly service from the owner of the hotel, and you get the best of all worlds.

CanadaShower pressure was a little low at times and the bed is very firm but was not uncomfortable. The path from the road to the hotel is narrow in places and can be busy at times with lots of scooters and pedestrians going back and forth but it wasn’t problem for us.
Excellent location on a quaint (but busy) path accessible only by foot or motorbike. Hotel staff are super helpful and friendly. They will meet you at the main road on scooters and take you and your bags to the hotel. You can continue on the path past the hotel and you will find beautiful rice fields with little cafes and art shops dotted along the way. Only a 10-15 walk to the main market and the heart of Ubud with loads of excellent restaurants nearby. The restaurant at the hotel has fabulous food and we ate there several times. The room was very clean, spacious and had excellent air conditioning. Staff was helpful in arranging comfortable and reliable transportation to our next location. If coming back to Ubud we would definitely stay here again.

South AfricaThe location in the rice fields were amazing. It almost had a village feel to it with cute earrings, cafes and yoga studio, massage spa etc. and a short 10-15 min walk you’re in the centre of the town. It wasn’t an issue for me but the walk way into the rice fields are narrow, no car can get through but easily accessible on a scooter and no problem to order a gojeck or grab. I have stayed in a few places in Ubud over the years and this one was my favourite.

QatarNot a complaint but wish the property had a taxi/car parking area on the main road since the road has no parking and the hotel's two wheelers need to pick the guests and luggage for the last 500 metres.
A beautiful family run hotel surrounded by nature and genuine smiles.

United StatesEverything was perfect. The only area of improvement is adding more variety to the breakfast options at the restaurant, however we were grateful for having breakfast included.
Everything was perfect! The staff were so friendly and helpful. They helped get us from the main street on their scooters and when we left as well. The rooms were immaculate and had comfortable beds and hot showers. The porch beds were so nice to lounge on and overlooked the pool and rice fields. This place also has a restaurant which was super nice to have. It was also easy to take a Grab motorcycle directly to the property.

I had an absolutely unreal experience staying at Ubud Shanti Rice Field House. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. The host went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and memorable. The location is perfect—close enough to the city center to explore easily but just far enough to enjoy the serene tranquility of the rice fields. Waking up to the view was magical. The breakfast was delightful, with fresh fruits and juice that were a perfect start to the day. The swimming pool was an oasis, providing a refreshing escape after exploring Ubud. This place is a true gem, blending convenience with a peaceful atmosphere. I can’t recommend it enough and will definitely return when I’m in Ubud again!

Located a few minutes away from the main road, in a peaceful little street, close to coffee shops, jewellery workshops and beautiful rice fields. Our room was spacious, clean, bright, and overlooking the hotel’s pool and rice fields. Breakfast was included and was very tasty! Would totally book a room at Ubud Shanti again

AustraliaMy only suggestion is a couple of umbrellas over the pool lounges to provide some shade around the pool.
Great internet coverage. Delicious, substantial breakfast included. They have their own Warung which has great evening meals. We loved looking out on the ducks in the surrounding rice fields. A family run property that has vested interest in making your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Although we arrived slightly early, it wasn’t an issue. The staff even offered us a moped ride from the bottom of the hill to help with our luggage, though I missed the message due to lack of data. Our room was spotless, and the complimentary breakfast was both delicious and filling. The restaurant’s food was also well-priced and equally tasty. A big thank you to the staff – you were all incredibly welcoming, helpful, and accommodating, making our stay truly enjoyable.

SwedenNothing really. Cars are not allowed on the road so the hotel will pick you and your luggage up with a scooter. I recommend using Grab or similar services to get to the city, or drive your own scooter if you are experienced.
Such a beautiful and calm spot close to the city, but yet on a nice distance away from the crowds. Beautiful rice tresses at your doorstep, and a great rice field walk just outside of the property. Staff was so welcoming and nice as well. Nice pool to use when it gets too hot.
