Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AzerbaijanWell, the hotel is 3 stars, I chose it purely because of the recommendation, without studying all the nuances ... All the minuses about the location, dogs, lizards inside, unclean towels, dirty pool etc. could be attributed to 3 stars ... But I will write what was very offensive, perhaps in the future the owners will be more attentive .. The day before arriving in Jimbaran, I got a severe burn and sunstroke in Canggu, because of this I could not sleep all night, and in the morning I was nauseous, so I asked the owner to leave my breakfast for later, they said yes, yes of course, but they still did not bring me anything that day, thank God there is an opportunity to order fruit from the market by taxi, and the 2nd day I was late for breakfast by 30 minutes, they said that Well, there is no breakfast, you are late ... Well, damn, you can make an exception when this happens - a person has a burn and it is already bad, and here you are talking about 30 minutes. Only on the 3rd day I got this breakfast, where a girl sitting on the floor playing on the phone with dirty hands that were scratching her hair - began to cook breakfast with these hands in front of me ... of course I did not eat it .. Only the owner is a kind man, he pulled out aloe for me 2 times and gave me to smear, he also gave me aloe cream, thank him very much, Only what was described above ruined all this and it was really a shame that they could not leave me 1 portion of breakfast in such a state, especially I could not go anywhere ... Well, thank God I am a doctor myself, I helped myself and I eat very little)) and those guys at the reception are really kind, but they only play on the phone and when I asked to go to the market for money and buy me fruit, they refused (they said we only work here, we can't go out)) so I gave a lot of commission to the taxi when they could have helped and earned ...

Singaporeplace is quite noisy at night and with malfunctioning aircon, getting good sleep is really challenging. Also, no hot water which makes the large bath unusable.
very nice hosts, always on the lookout for guests

Australia1. The scooter that rented for me was the most expensive one I had through Canggu, Nusa Penida and Ubud. But yet it was the smallest and oldest one. We got the scooter in the afternoon. As soon as we left the accommodation, there was only one bar of petrol in the scooter. We had to quickly found a petrol station when we were not even familiar with the area. Even worse than that was the head lights were broken!!! We had to ride the scooter back with no head lights from Uluwatu which was about 25 minutes! We should’ve checked the scooter thoroughly before taking it instead of just trusting the accommodation. 2. After the eventful night and finally back to the accommodation, I took a shower and washed my hair. Then, realised the hairdryer was broken too…Because the owners don’t live there and the staff already left, I couldn’t find anyone to help me. 3. The breakfast was pancakes ONLY. There was no other option. It came with 5, 6 slices of banana and vanilla ice cream. It really was not a healthy choice for me. 4. The bed frame was big. I bumped into it the first night and got a big bruise and a scratch on my leg. The pillows were very high made my neck sore so I ended up sleep without pillows.
The room was clean.

United Arab EmiratesWe had a room with a wooden roof, so when it rained, you would wake up to the rain dripping on your face. And the bathroom was all in water, from the glass air inserts on the ceiling, from where all the water flowed. Sometimes forgot to clean up and you had to ask cuz the trash was already stinking. Roosters crow all the time, not just at 5 am :) Dogs bark a lot on the street when someone comes, but they don’t bite. There is no one at the reception after 9 pm, and the door has an electronic lock, so if there are two of you, better to ask for several keys, otherwise you may end up spending the night on the street like my friend :)
Nice staff, proper cleaning, big room, good AC location so your eyes doesn’t feel sick, good common area near the pool, tasty breakfast included.

GermanyThe place is pretty old. It doesn't look like the pictures. For example, some things were rusty and old. The bathroom was not properly cleaned ( stains on the toilet seat ), which made us feel a bit disgusted. The place in general could benefit from a much needed renovation. We definitely thought it was on the pricier side considering the state it's in.
Swimming pool, location and the fact that the staff facilitated our scooter rental. The bed was super comfortable.

AustraliaAccess to the villa is by dirty, swampy and dark small roads. Drivers had difficulty finding it. Room wasn’t cleaned every day. This is very disgusting considering toilet rubbish not being emptied every day. Also, we needed to ask for more water because room wasn’t cleaned therefore no new water provided.
If you are on a budget, it’s ok. Once inside it is nice, clean and staff are polite.

NorwayInsane amounts of mosquitoes in the room when arriving! Spent hours trying to kill them all, but woke up everyday full of new bites. Very poor cleaning with the floor being full of previous occupants hair and dirt. Unstable and slow internet (wifi)
Helpful staff, nice pool and backyard. Quiet in the night.

AustraliaA little while away from the centre of the town. So minimal food options available.
The host and the staff at the property were more than attentive. Happy to help and assist with anything they could. Breakfast was provided daily and it was different everyday, very good portion sizes. It was my partners birthday whilst we were staying at the property, no one informed the staff and they had organised a birthday cake as they had looked at the dates on the passports. The owner would make sure you got a dessert every night, at no extra cost either.
