Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur stay at Vije was amazing! The food was great and reasonably priced, our room was absolutely stunning, and most importantly the staff and service were exceptional. Everyone was very helpful and extremely accommodating. I would certainly recommend this hotel and hope to visit again in the future! Also the location is great and only a 10 minute ride away from the centre of Ubud. The hotel offer a free of charge shuttle service or you can use Grab which is very affordable.

FinlandWe LOVED our stay at Vije. A beautiful, aesthetic place with all we could have dreamed of. The staff was so friendly and helpful and the rooms were just wonderful - spacious, pretty, clean and with some extra bonuses like schampoo etc that smelled amazing :) Also tried the massages which were so so good!

United KingdomThe meal arrangements were strange, there is a beautiful restaurant and bar down by the pool but it is not staffed so you order in the other restaurant next to reception and the road and it gets delivered to your table and staff hover while you eat it. The quality of the food was poor so we ate dinner out, the breakfast offering was very limited. The private pool in the villa was cloudy and uninviting so we didn’t use it. Some staff were excellent but there were many trainees who could do nothing without finding a colleague. The spa and gym are accessible only via a staircase through the undergrowth that is a river in the wet.
The Villa itself was good with nice outside seating, the communal pool was lovely looking out over the valley.

CanadaThe food for dinner was okay. Also the bathroom doesn't have a window, only shutters; it creates a unique jungle vibe tho; just be aware bugs could come in (we were hiding food and drinks in the fridge; wasn't too bad with the ants then). Some areas (like the pool stairs) would need some renovation.
The staff was extremly friendly and helpful. The music on the property made you feel in a full day spa. Very nice atmosphere. Mostly very quiet. Had the pool all to ourselves on multiple mornings. Very clean everything. The small gym was good equiped.

JapanThe bed sheet had stains (it’s cleaned but the colour was still there) the options of breakfast were very limited, so if you stay more than a few days, it’d be not ideal. But it was tasty.
The room and public space were very clean. More than that, the hotel staffs were very kind. We were recommended a trail by the rice field, at the time were overwhelmed with the crowded central Ubud, so we were glad to experience the silent rice field area.

IrelandBeautiful hotel, the room was incredibly spacious with a huge comfortable bed and an amazing bathroom. Loved the rain shower and bath. Everything we needed was provided. Pristine. Every single staff member was welcoming, friendly, kind, and helpful. We were assisted in any questions we had, they organised a hike up mount Batur for us. We had our laundry done- easy and efficient process. Massages were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and freshly prepared. We felt lucky to experience the dinner with cultural dance on the Friday. Thank you for a great stay!

New ZealandThe only downside is it’s a bit far from everything so you will need extra time to get to ubud central. Good thing is they provide a shuttle to and from which was great!
The villa we had was amazing! It was very spacious and had everything you needed to have a good stay. The staff was always friendly and helpful and the site was kept clean all the time.

Australia-
We reserved the private pool villa which provided us the peace that we wanted. The property overlooked the jungle and river and was beautiful. The staff were so welcoming. Property was 10 minutes from the main town but the resort had free shuttles for guests running on a regular basis. Food was great and provided plenty of healthy options. Loved this place and would highly recommend

AustraliaLovely room was created with an upgraded room which was amazing. Front office staff remembered my name (I wasn’t there for very long either). Very accommodating and helpful. Unfortunately it rained a lot so didn’t use the pool but the massages at their day spa were great. Breakfast was simple and fast. As it’s a little out of the heart of Ubud, it was really quiet and relaxing. Would visit again.

United Arab EmiratesThe restaurant has a limited range of options, particularly vegetarian or vegan. With that beautiful setting, it would have been good to have a more varied menu. The restaurant staff compensated for this, however, by being very helpful.
The hotel has beautiful premises, a gorgeous swimming pool facing a tropical rainforest, a very good spa with a range of massages, and the room was very well appointed. The staff was always very helpful, and it was a pleasure to stay there. I recommend it to anyone visiting Ubud.
