The fridge wasn't big enough to hold a carton of Bintang 🤣

Review A friend of mine Paul, put me onto this place, run by his family, in the mountains away from the usual traps. If you want to get away from everything and spend time with a Balinese family but with some of the comforts of western life (hot water and toilet), this is the sort of place your looking for. First I have to say that they are in the jungle and away from the road and you get a real feel of being in a different place. There is no frontage to the road and it’s a bit hard to find, but they organise to meet you close by. It is uphill on a narrow path to the house and while a bit steep at one point, it’s not impossible Gede is a local guide and knows some great places around here that are not on the radar…. If you’re the adventurous type then go Canyoning with his mates… Putu will look after the food and while the food is simple, it is certainly not plain and I tried some different things I wasn’t expecting. The rooms are simple yet spacious with a separate lounge and kitchenette, there’s a fridge, toaster and kettle. A surprise is the water… straight from a natural spring and drinkable without worry. There are kids and dogs and chooks and trees with food you can eat growing right outside the door.

it was an incredible experience with Greg and Putuh, they showed us the surroundings of Gitgit with magnificent waterfalls. Thank you very much for all the knowledge about Bali that you have given us! We recommend !

It is certainly ‘in the jungle’ and there is no access by car closer than 100metres and it is a 2 minute walk in and up to the house. There is a certain level of fitness required but I am no athlete and I made it ok. On Arrival at the complex Gede took over organising our bags and led us up to the house where his wife waited with a wonderful cold drink and some fruit. The whole family lives in the complex of about 5 houses (Mum, Brothers and their wives Uncles…and children) and we were soon friends with 3 or 4 youngsters, but the Guest quarters are a separate building. Cosy with a lounge room and small kitchen nook (kettle and toaster), the Rooms are simple and suit the surroundings. If you are adept with a motorbike and looking for something more than just a hotel. You might find this place is what you are looking for. Gede was happy to organise tours through the waterfalls in the area and further out to the old capital city of Singaraja and the north coast. A great guy ready to help you have the holidays you want.

My wife and I came to stay with Gede and his Family for 3 nights It is a small out of the way place for those who are looking for the alternative to hotels and swim up bars.

For me and my fiancé (young and healthy) the steep and slippery hill that you need to conquer in order to get to the property was a light challenge for our skills, but you definitely can't say it's super easy. Don't be a hero, let Gede take your scooter to the property!

Gede and his family are wonderful, if you're looking to be part of a balinese family temporarily, this is the right place! They will be overwhelmingly excited to meet you and will envelop you with their positive vibe, Gede can be your guide around the area if you'd like that, you can see how different fruits and spices grow around the jungle + some lesser known local waterfalls with stunning views, I would advise to ask Gede what you want to see and experience based on your needs and wishes, for myself, I have been advised to check the Aigung* waterfalls that you can jump from 5 meteres 10 meteres and 15 meters which I have enormously enjoyed! Property has a jungle view, location is central in order to see all the top waterfalls in the area.
