Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe had a wonderful stay at Vinayaka! The place was very clean, and the beautiful garden added to the relaxing atmosphere. The owner was incredibly kind and helpful, taking great care of us. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming.😊🙏🏽 Breakfast was brought to our balcony every morning. The location is perfect, tucked away in a quiet alley but still within walking distance of many great warungs. Highly recommended for a peaceful and enjoyable stay!

United KingdomNothing I loved everything
I loved the location. I loved being surrounded by peaceful gardens full of nature yet you were only a short walk into the heart of busy Ubud. The room looks exactly same as photos, I’d actually say even better in real life. The owner Ella was amazing helping me when I got food poisoning. She went over and above making sure I received medical treatment, going to shops to buy me supplies. She is truly an angel on earth. I will most certainly stay there again

SingaporeNothing specific.
Location is calm and soothing; yet not very far from Ubud centre. Opening the room door is like a fresh breeze because of lush greenery surrounding the property. Room was excellent at the price and you can expect all necessities there; nice big bed, air conditioner, clean bathroom etc. There are a lot of cute cafes just outside of property to spend great calm evening. Near by temple have cultural activities. A small 24*7 shop also near by. Land lady is very kind and helping. One day we had to leave very early for day trip and she was kind enough to pack the breakfast. Breakfast is not so grand but decent enough for a person; it was fresh and tasty. Staff is very nice.

NetherlandsThere is truly a lot to like, but: Bedding smells a bit sour, musty. We saw each morning dead bedbugs. The mattress and bedding should be professionally cleaned in order to get rid of them and the itchiness. Bathroom: sometimes there is an unpleasant smell from the drain/sink. We feel sorry to say this, because we liked the accommodation very much.
We stayed four nights at Vinayaka Ubud. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the main street. The location is quiet and rooms have a view at the small pool and beautiful green garden. There is a washing rack on the terrace Breakfast is served on our own room terrace. It was fine. The young woman who served us breakfast is very kind. We rented a motor bike through the hotel, which is convenient.

FranceI liked everything, except my my air conditioner locked at 26 degrees the last night, which was tomorrow hot with the humidity.
The rooms were clean, the beds large and comfortable, the property quiet and the staff super friendly, helpful and kind. The breakfast was simple but good, with lots of fresh fruit. When I got a nasty rash from either a bug or a waterfall, I was given the directions to a good and reasonable medical clinic. We had hot water, air conditioning and it worked well. The (smallish) pool was as nice.

United KingdomIt’s a bit of a tricky walk back from town on a very narrow road with puddles and roaring scooters.
An oasis close to the town centre. A very, very comfy bed with comfy pillows and very clean. The pool is beautiful and so welcome after the heat and humidity. The staff are very friendly and helpful. An extra plus is a lovely restaurant right by the entrance.

SingaporeEverything was perfect!
I had the most wonderful stay at Vinayaka Guesthouse in Ubud! From the moment I arrived, Ella, the incredible owner, made me feel so welcome and at home. She is truly one of the kindest and most thoughtful hosts I’ve ever met, always ensuring everything was perfect. Kedek, her amazing staff member, was equally fantastic—so friendly, attentive, and always there to help with a smile. The location is absolutely ideal. It’s an easy walk to central Ubud, so you’re close to all the action, but the guesthouse itself is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful spot surrounded by lush greenery. It felt like a perfect sanctuary to relax and recharge after exploring. The breakfasts were another highlight! Every morning, I was treated to a delicious homemade meal that was the perfect way to start the day. The care and love put into everything at Vinayaka Guesthouse is so evident, from the warm hospitality to the serene atmosphere. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ella and Kedek truly made my stay unforgettable. If you’re visiting Ubud, this is the perfect place to stay. Thank you, Ella and Kedek—I’ll definitely be back! 🌴✨

GermanyThe only thing was an unidentifiable small noise somehow 'behind'the room in regular intervals. Nothing really 'bad' , it's just the only thing I can think of.
The family was so kind and helpful (the airline misplaced my suitcase and they were calling and making sure it arrived the same evening, waiting for it to arrive, even brought it to my room). Always a smile, great breakfast (especially the pancake!), beautiful pool, huge bed, clean, dry (and its rainy season). Can absolutely recommend.

AustraliaLike other reviews have said- small laneway access- all our drivers drove along it but larger cars may not. A small fridge would be handy. No fridge or water in rooms- Ella has mineral water at the kitchen that can refill bottles (not cold).
Small property with limited rooms (not busy). Clean rooms. Clean pool. Good breakfast. Close to town.

United KingdomThe bathrooms needed a bit of a better scrub, with bleach.
The pool was awesome and the fact that is only 4 rooms and really near the main street was a plus for us. Breakfast was lovely and we could have it outside in the varanda... Comfy huuuuuuge bed and they did a honeymoon decor for us which was soooo lovely.

United KingdomLeaving 😆
We had an amazing 3 night stay here. The room was beautifully clean, with air conditioning and the biggest bed ever! Great bathroom with hot shower and shampoo and soap. Lovely private balcony overlooking the pool where breakfast is served to you each morning with choice of eggs, pancakes, fresh coffee and fruits. Ella the owner was so kind and helpful. She organised massages for us in our room with Koming which were fantastic snd excellent value. Ella also booked our transport and boat to Lombok and well as renting us one of her scooters which was in very good condition. The Homestay is situated about 10 minutes walk up from the main town of Ubud but in a very peaceful area. There are many restaurant and bar options close bar, only a few minutes walk away. On a scooter it only takes much less and you can explore the beautiful temples and rice fields nearby. The pool area was lovely and relaxing and the pool was so clean. Perfect place to chill. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here when visiting Ubud.

PortugalThe owner offered us the possibility to pack our breakfast on the last day because we had a transfer very early in the morning. Also, one of us was sick and she was super kind to contact the doctor to come there and offered the possibility to give us a ride to the health clinic and made tea for us. Everyone was super kind trying to make us feel at home!

The owners and people that works there were amazing! I celebrate my birthday in the hotel and the lovely lady made a beautiful decoration with roses, also she was so kind to sing a birthday song along with a chocolate cake and a candle. I felt like home and loved it. Also the place is very quiet. All you need is there. They have restaurants around

very nice room with beautiful furniture and very comfortable beds, terrace also nice and beautiful view into lush green jungle and beautiful garden. The owners are very warmhearted and kind people. The pool is very refreshing and breakfast fresh and tasty. The entire place is a little refuge from overcrowded Ubud and yet the busy main road can be reached by max 10 walking or 1 minute on grab motorbike. On the same street there 2 very good restaurants and very good spa&massage place is either diagonally across the street or more budget friendly 5 min walking further up the road to the parallel main road.
