How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Staff was not the friendliest, but still accommodating.
Location was excellent! Rooms were cleanand comfortable. We asked for an early check-in and upon our arrival, we were allowed to check in early, which was very helpful!

I have used booking.com for at least 50 hotel stays and have never requested a change or cancel a room. On this occasion I had booked a non refundable room and I did request a change of date as 2 people had to cancel. This was not facilitated. I cannot understand this as it was the All Ireland final weekend and the room would have been filled. We stayed for the night as I did not want to loose 325e for the quadruple room but only 2 of us could travel. Why could a change of date not be facilitated? I understand it was a non refundable room but this has really disappointed me. I have deleted the booking.com app from my phone and will use another search engine in the future.

Forgot shampoo and shower gel,a small bottle in room would have been handy. Just enough to do until I could buy some. I also would have appreciated a wee biscuit nothing fancy.

Beds were a bit uncomfy and single beds were very narrow. The fire alarm went off during the night on our stay which was a false alarm but all very confusing

The walls of the room could do with better soundproofing. On one occasion, without the TV on in my room, I could clearly hear a phone conversation being had by a guest in the neighbouring room.
Excellent location just off O'Connell Street, which is the main thoroughfare in central Dublin. Many of the principal tourist attractions are withing easy walking distance of the hotel. Plenty of bars and restaurants can be found in the immediate area. Pickup points for the tourist buses are also nearby. Room was compact but included all the basic amenities. Good breakfast selection.

We were a room of 3, a little extra tea/coffee/milk would have been nice because of this. We had no real complaints though.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Rooms comfortable.

It was a bit noisy from the nearby bar. It depends on the location of your room. We stayed in 2 rooms, one was nicely quiet, and from the other one, we could hear people partying (not too loud, though).
Location excellent - a short ride from the airport, close to the main street and easy access to all the main attractions.

The room we stayed in did not have any view. It was looking at a common closed area.
Almost everything was good, especially the location and cleanliness. The staff was friendly and attentive. There are some nice places nearby. Staying in this part of the city can be the right choice for calmness and relaxation. Temple Bar and National Museums can be reached on foot. You can take a bus to the airport.

The rooms are not the biggest.

The lighting was lovely and atmospheric, but no option if you wanted brighter light. Pillows were very very thin.

There was not a shower mat or grab rail in the bath. It was quite tricky to negotiate.
The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff.
