How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast was v good and above all, we enjoyed the hospitality and kindness of the hostess, Greta. She makes you feel at home and looks after your every need. Very nice!

The owners were so charming, very hospitable, they knew everything about the surrounding areas and lent advice on what to see and best ways (less stressful for an American driving first time on the left) to get there. Excellent Irish breakfasts served. Would love to stay here again and highly recommend it to others looking for a B&B in Killarney.

Hosts were fantastic! Greta was kind, warm, friendly, and made us feel at home. We could not have asked for more! Breakfast was delicious. The place was spotless, and our room was attended each day we were there.

The location was good and Greta was a fantastic host. I loved her help figuring out what to do each day with the unpredictable weather! She’s a true gem! She was always encouraging me to try a little more of her breakfast. Great French press!

I’d highly recommend Algret House to those visiting Killarney. Close to the center of the town, but in a quiet neighborhood, the house is immaculately clean. The breakfast room is large, and the food cooked to order, with delicious home-baked scones a highlight. The proprietor is friendly, attentive and eager to assist guests in any way she can.

We could have chosen a bigger room, and will next time. My husband and I are tall and we had a lot of bags due to the length of our stay so we were a bit cramped. There were rooms that were larger and we probably could have switched but were really only there to sleep so it was fine. We happened to be there during a heat wave and very few places have AC in Ireland. The open windows worked a bit, but maybe having fans available for future heat waves (LOL) would be good.
Greta is an amazing host. Breakfast was the best we had during our whole trip and I want to go back already for her scones! The place is so clean and quiet and charming. The location is perfect for what we needed and we walked into town for all of our activities although we had a car. Parking was no problem either. She also had good recommendations as requested and was easy to contact prior to our arrival (we were running late). Highly recommend.

Liked everything— the room/shower on the small side, however.
Very comfortable although the room was small. Still very adequate for my granddaughter and me. Very clean. Wonderful though small shower, lots of hot water. Breakfast was delicious with a good variety of choice. Hostess Greta could not have been more thoughtful, helpful and kind. Pleasant, quiet residential location, short walk to a variety of restaurants, etc.

A choice of fresh fruit salad along with the cereals would have been nice.
Breakfast offered a very good choice and looked and tasted great. The cooked breakfast wasn't at all greasy and set us up for the day. Along with the tea, toast, yoghurt and a lovely fresh scone. Wonderful! Greta was so obliging and helpful and went out of her way to help us with taxis etc. Greta and Alf are a wonderfully warm couple who really look after their guests. Thank you for a lovely stay💐
