Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe instructions for the parking garage/car park can be clearer. The parking garage /car park is shared by 3 hotels, and it is a short walk from the hotel. The room was a bit warm and we turned down the Air Conditioning, but we opted into opening a window. There is a bar on the corner from the hotel, so it may be a bit noisy throughout the evening (we did not mind this part though).
The location was right on the outskirts of Dublin. It was great! We did not dine in the restaurant but ordered room service. The food and the service was exceptional. Rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful. Wi-Fi was great without interruptions. We will return and we recommend!

The service at the Alex was excellent. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable even giving my husband a box of chocolates for his birthday. The room was so comfortable. Our favorite was the rainfall shower!

United KingdomThe room was rather hot as the air conditioning could be a little temperamental. However, once we’re were provided a spare key to keep the air conditioning going when we were out, it was fine
The hotel was really clean and nicely designed. The bed was very comfortable and staff were always polite and on hand.

United KingdomGreat style and facilities. Location was not too busy but walking distance to most of the popular locations and Temple bar area. Lots of coffee shops in the immediate area when you leave the hotel. Staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us from facilitating early check in, to giving us recommendations for tourist spots.

United KingdomWe thought the complimentary toiletries were a little stingy, not enough shower gel in the sachet for 2 people for 2 nights and it didn’t get topped up during turndown - and there was no toothpaste. Just could be better considering the quality of the rest of the hotel. The toiletries that were provided were decent though, Paul Costello branded. I also really liked the lighting in the whole hotel, no harsh spotlights but good quality mood lighting. An exception to this would be good for a cosmetic light / mirror light in the bathroom or at the desk, to give guests the option of good lighting for doing make-up etc.
We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is beautifully done the small details are luxurious, and we liked the art too. the staff were very welcoming and friendly, stored our luggage for us when we needed it and left a nice tray of treats in our room for my husband’s birthday which was a lovely touch.

SwitzerlandA luggage rack in the room would have been practical, as well as a real night table to place some things within easier reach than on the ledge at the top of the bed.
This comfortable hotel is conveniently located, away from the traffic, but still within easy walking distance to the very heart of Dublin. As long as one is in the mood for a full Irish/English breakfast, the offer is just fine. When, after three consecutive mornings of that heavy fare I felt like something different for my last breakfast, it became quite apparent that there is not much else to feed on. Some honey comb but no real honey, a limited bread selection, no waffles, no (edible) cakes, nothing made-to-order at all, and only a very small fruit selection (with some good Irish yogurt, though). And there is no `special,' ... instead, everything repeats in something of a groundhog-day experience. Apart from that noticeable breakfast monotonicity no complaints at all.

Bar was in restaurant area and was there but not a destination but better to have than not. Locations was super for town and rugby stadium set Stephens Green and the like.
