The response to requests for glandular sugar or marmalade should merit a response if not available and not just be ignored or worse still as appeared, forgotten about.

The breakfast experience could have been Inproved. A request for sugar in a granulated form to sprinkle on cornflakes was not followed up with any response. A request for marmalade to spread on toast the following day was also just ignored. The lack of professionalism was telling by the absence of any selection of jams available and the bread and pastries display stands being left empty despite guests still being present. Guests had to resort to stirring their tea with soup spoons as there were no tea spoons on any of the tables. It was unusual to note that Fruit was not made available to guests as a request for a banana confirmed that fruit was indeed unavailable. It is however a lovely location and if the hotel revises the shortfalls with the breakfast experience it will be a very worthwhile destination to visit.

Stayed in the hotel for evening meal on last night. Fantastic food + so reasonable for the quality. We were so glad we decided to eat in .Bueatiful ambiance in the bar /restaurant with lots of natural light + yet peaceful. The waiters were immaculate + very professional.Just the best cuisine. V peaceful so we slept well. The bathrooms don,t have mobile shower heads which made showering awkward. Overhead rain showerheads above bath+ fixed mixer taps below. Bathrooms a bit tired but adequate, Thick carpets in rooms. Beds super comfortable, best Ive experienced in a hotel. The best part for me was dining in the bar/restaurant then just a few steps to room. Helicopter on lawn which took off as we were leaving! Its a full estate not just hotel + the golf cousre is amazing

Lobby was underwhelming, a little tired

Great space & a comfortable bed, we stayed in 'the Sally Garden' room in the old house . It is certainly a nice setting with the Golf course onsite and I don't think I can recollect staying in a room with such a massive bathroom.

Accessible room seemed a little sparse, but other than that, everything was good. We didn't spend much time in the room.

Great location for a short break. Lots of local walking loops for those interested in that type of activity. The Spa was also a great experience.

Slow service. Wine selection needs review.

Dinner- haddock & sea bass good. Chicken Supreme very average. House Chardonnay & savignon by the glass awful. Bottle of Sancerre at €50 very average. Fab, helpful young girl serving (9th March). Comfortable, large bedroom on ground floor. Nice public areas.

The spa….. as a hotel resident I was disappointed that you had to pay 20€ per person to use a spa that had limited use. The steam room wasn’t working and the jacuzzi needed a good clean. I asked one staff member about the remains of the castle….. she was clueless; maybe information like this should be part of their induction?!!

Great location and easy to find The restaurant food was exceptional and great value for money The room was very clean Lovely friendly staff

They were very short staffed. It was a huge problem. Guy at the bar looked like he was going to kill me with his looks because obviously he was so stressed and annoyed that we asked for an order. Very rude. Everything else was perfect so this was annoying

Only tiny thing is the spa only open 10-6 so I couldn't get a treatment unfortunately. And would have loved a swimming pool!

Location lovely - a golf hotel so on a golf course, beautiful views and very peaceful. Hotel is part of an old castle so very original, stately, classy. Staff very helpful and friendly. The spa offered a wide range of treatments. Altogether exceeded our expectations.

Could hear the next rooms guest snoring.

The comfort in rooms & staff. Breakfast was lovely& substantial. Class view from breakfast room over looking the golf course, which I believe is part & parcel of your stay? We checked in with bags & didn’t return until late-1am! We left early the next day so didn’t get time to check out the rest of what was available.

The room was exceptional. The bed was comfy, the pillows were soft, the views were stunning. The decor was in keeping with the building, and wasn't at all tired. Our room was exceptionally clean, even with a last minute request to check-in early. The staff were wonderfully accommodating, polite, and warm. I was contacted in advance to confirm the stay - unfortunately due to overrunning works, we had to stay in a different suite but 30 Euro would be credited to our room (it was, and went towards a tasty light lunch!) I can't comment on the golf/spa/breakfast as they weren't facilities we used.

Nice 4 star hotel 15/20 minutes from Sligo town

The heating didn't come on in the room (in February!), we had to phone reception to get it going. They had to call a repair man, but sorted within 30 minutes. The breakfast was fine, but limited choice of cereals (no muesli, even though it was down on their website). Cooked breakfast was fine. The tea wasn't great, perhaps due to the water in the area.

Nice room, good breakfast, friendly staff. You probably need your own vehicle to stay here, although bus service about 1.5 km away. You can do a nice walk around the golf course. Sligo town about 15/20 minutes away by car. Dinner: very good food

The only complaint was a slight smell of damp/mold in the otherwise very clean en suite bathroom

All was good , very reasonable price approx £100 for two sharing including breakfast One big double bed , one single in the larger than average room which is what was required . The spa was complimentary perhaps as steam room out of order due to Storm Éowyn. My son thoroughly enjoyed his experience in the spa. I enjoyed seeing the castle ruins, a 15 or 20 min pleasant dander along the golf course, and the remoteness of the grounds in the Irish countryside..Just what we wanted , parking free on site , so much handier that some city hotels when parking can be difficult .Nice evening meal and the breakfast was included. Not a gourmet breakfast but perfectly acceptable. All very good value indeed for what I paid for two .
