How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

None of the lights or chargers in the bunks working also the toilet light and shower lights would only work for very short time

I never found the hotel, so I didn't sleep there nor did I even see how it looked like because when I was booking I pleaded that I come early and rest because my flight arrives early, but I got no reply so I had to find another hotel that allowed me to check in as early as 10am instead of afternoon
I was able to drink a pint of Guinness at the airport on my way back to England

Lockers charges are a bit high.
Probably best hostel in Dublin and Europe. Very spacious with decent breakfast. Looks like upmarket 3 stars hotel. Receptionists are friendly.

The attention at the reception when I checked in was terrible, very bad way. Nobody informed me that the building is under maintenance and the bed plugs do not work, so there are only two plugs in the room for 6 people. The cleaning of the room is also very bad, I saw how they did the replacement of beds and they simply put new sheets but they don't clean the bathroom The sheets also seemed old and dirty. People who were not from the Hostel entered the Hostel and especially children who came to get everything dirty.
The only thing that is good si the location.

Pricey for how small the room was (150 USD per night).One bartender sang Green Days "American Idiot" while making direct eye contact with me while pouring pints.

Nothing - all was great!
First visit to hostel and was pleasantly surprised. As friends, both near 50 years old - We were surprised at the mixture of people that were staying. Property was extremely clean and tidy, Staff were helpful And this particular property is in a great location near the centre of Dublin

Power outlets out of use, shower drain didn’t work properly and the bathroom almost flooded everytime, staff was mostly friendly, but didn’t try to solve any of the problems.

Sockets at the beds did not work. Staff handed out powerbanks but because the demand was so high, you would regularly only get like 10% battery out of them. The bathroom connected to my (6 people) dorm was disgusting. Unfortunately the curtain to cover the bed was missing, so there was no sense of privacy.
Staff was super nice and the events they host daily are great to meet people. Dublin is very walkable from the hostel's location.

The noise, the walls are too thin that you can hear other people in the hallway and Nextdoor.
It’s spacious enough. Shops and restaurants are very close.

Wow my first time staying in shared accomodatiin at 54 years young and it was an amazing uplifting experience - staff are very professional, friendly and hands on. The locatiin is central and perfect for everything. I felt recharged from my stay - thank you all Also patrons are very friendly too

Not all of the bunks had working outlets but they accommodated this issue with power banks.

I paid 83€ for a single bed in a four-bed female dorm which is steep. On top of that I had to pay 5€ for a towel. The socket and lamp in the bed didn't work and this seemed to be a thing across the whole hostel. The mattress was horribly uncomfortable and I had to put the sheets on myself. No shower gel or hairdryer...bit of a rip off to be honest.

I have never stayed a hostel. As a 64 year young woman I had visions of the ‘70 type hostels lol. I enjoyed this very much. Food great. Security awesome, liked that you card only worked on your floor. Staff was great.
