How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Cheap bed with thin mattress. If wanted to leave luggage there an hour before check in would have been charged €4 - ridiculous. Luggage storage required. Room was shoebox size with no tea making facilities, safe. Bed against wall made it hard to close blind. Excessive price for a double in a ‘private’ room and certainly not value for money.
Location great - on a LUAS Tee line close to Connell Street

There was no electricity in the dorm for the entire 2 days. So no bed lamp or mobile charging.

The hostel is located in the heart of the city which is a significant advantage, easy to reach from the airport, easy to navigate on the spot. No complaints about the accommodation : convenient, clean, everything worked. I especially want to note the work of the staff at the reception: they are friendly, attentive and ready to help you both in matters of accommodation and in matters to advise what to visit in the city. Therefore, I can definitely recommend this hostel.

The couple's beds are two single beds tied together, which is not comfortable at all. A lot of noise comes from the other rooms.
Great location, room as listed, good shower and friendly staff. Easy check-in/check-out.

My bed was without power, thats something indispensable when travelling because you need your phone fully charged in the morning. They'll give me power banks to charge it over the night but it didn't fill the whole charge so same problem. After 2 days of struggling they changed me to another room.
The location was great, people there too. It was very clean too

The room was dirty, the sink in the toilet didn't work, and there was a guy in the room that made me feel unsafe and didn't let me sleep (and apparently smeared his fecal matter on the wall of the toilet). The atmosphere's vibe is weird, full of men looking for a girl, it didn't make me feel comfortable. Additionally, when I complained as I was leaving, they did not offer any kind of compensation.
I didn't really like much about my stay other than the fact that it was easy to reach via public transportation and the wifi worked decently.

I saw several positive comments before booking this hostel, but personally, I didn't enjoy the experience. To start with, the sockets in the room simply don't work! I had to charge my phone using the power bank the receptionist lent me. They also don't provide bath towels; they sell them. Additionally, the staff aims to provide quick service, but they end up not giving the attention the guest deserves. Sometimes, those guys at the front desk try to do 10 things at once. And about the bathroom, it's completely enclosed with no windows, so taking a shower feels like being in a sauna.

Excellent location. New and exceptionally clean. Plugs for your electronics, light over your bed, key cards, elevators and a great price. Can't beat it.(and I'm 64 yrs old 🙂). Will definitely stay again when in Dublin!

Had a private double bed room where it was 2 single mattress things (not mattresses) shoved together on the bed, The reception questioned my guest whether I, as the booker of the room, had ever stayed before, extremely unprofessional all in all, Tis clearly a place for people back-packing or something really wish I read the negative comments first as if you're their for leisure and not to see Dublin it's a Sh!!hole
The best thing was we only wasted money on 1 night
