How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfast and all-round comfort. The location suited us perfectly for walking and cycling.

Little warm in room, but nothing an open window couldn't fix.
Beautifully maintained property and the hosts go over and above to help. Very clean with good facilities (breakfast room, shared living room). Breakfast service prompt and yummy. Water pressure in the shower exceptional. Lovely views in quiet location with easy access to town by car.

The sloping ceiling was a little awkward over the bed. Hit our heads a few times but you get used to it.
Such a quiet location yet close to Harvey's Point for a nice meal out.

739 / 5,000 Wow, we were very pleasantly surprised! The best B&B we have ever stayed in! The Eas Dun Lodge is located in a very quiet area on Lake Eske in the middle of County Donegal, the perfect starting point for all sightseeing destinations in Donegal and Northern Island. The rooms are very spacious and lovingly furnished. They offer everything you need for a stay. Very beautiful, well-kept grounds, sufficient private parking available. A later check-in was also possible on request without any problems. The hosts Patsy and Ann are very friendly and helpful - with lots of great tips for exploring the area. As I said: overall really, really great! We would choose the Eas Dun Lodge again at any time!

Despite confusion over the booking our hosts rapidly sorted a misunderstanding and ensured that our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable. Breakfasts were good quality and offered lots of options. Location was outstanding and very convenient for Donegal town and a good base for touring

Hard to find but once you do you’ll not be disappointed. Host’s were fantastic along with the breakfast. Enjoyed the races while there.

several km out of town. we ate twice at Harvest Point, the only place nearby to eat. We loved the food but it was expensive.

Ann and Patsy were incredible hosts! We felt so welcome at their bed and breakfast and they truly went above and beyond to guide us through our stay. To add they make such a lovely breakfast, the pancakes were delicious, and they even catered to some of my friends ‘weird’ breakfast requests. The room was stunning, with very modern but rustic touches. Mineral water provided in the mini fridge which is a big plus in my eyes!!

It was perfect.
The Hosts were very kind and welcoming. The house was adorable. The room was cozy and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. The location was excellent...out of the hubbub of the city tourist stuff but close enough to visit in just 10 minutes. Cooper, the manager and lovely dog was so so sweet. Loved this B&B and the hosts.

Everything was up to standard!
Patsy and Ann looked after me so very well. The room was spotless and the setting was just gorgeous! I stayed up for a wedding (but Lough Eske was slightly out of my price point) so this was a great alternative. Taxis weren't too difficult either!
