Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAccess to outdoor space after 9.00pm would have been convenient Quiet area outside room would have been good.
location: not bad location for public transport links and my other purposes, in a fairly pleasant area; suited my requirement. 24 hour access to staff and hostel helpful. Room: 6 bed dormitory - adequate and sufficiently spacious to enable one not to feel 'cheek-by-jowl with others. Unfortunately, there was a 'Snorer'! Overall clean enough and shared toilet and shower ok. Breakfast: good to be able to purchase an optional breakfast at reasonable price. Good coffee.

HungaryThe bed was a bit uncomfortable. Some of the other customers were really nice but one in particular was slamming doors. Not the places fault but that’s part of what you may expect
It was a good location with cleaning, food, drinks and a Tesco just around the corner and some food places just opposite. It’s a 20 minute walk from temple bar. Can’t moan at the £16 a night

United StatesCould have curtains for each bed as is the new facility in high end hostels worldwide. And with the price you pay, you would expect that. The pillow was pretty flat to my liking, but this is very personal.
All in all, well organized hostel with good vibes. They rent towels and adaptor( ok, could have been included in the price) in case you need them. There is an individual light and socket for each bed, which is very good, as well as a sink in the room. There was always someone cleaning the toilets and showers!

IrelandAs a solo female traveller I felt a bit unsafe having been first put in a room with only myself and a male. When I noticed the other bed was covered in vomit I asked to change rooms as I felt unsafe and unsanitary. I was disappointed to be put in another room with only males. It would have been considerate for staff to consider gender balance in rooms when allocating. One of the occupants was very noisy and disruptive from 4 to 6am in the morning which meant the 5 hours sleep I could have had went out the window
Staff were friendly and check in easy Everywhere seemed fairly clean too.

SlovakiaBit small room for 8 people, yes I know it's a hostel... the showers could have been cleaner. The charger was not working in my bed and the lamp neither (no current) which was a bit inconvenient.
Good location, neighbourhood is nice. Bar is good, overall nice vibe. Lots of toilet and shower, always there was a free one. Beds were ok.

United StatesThe only thing I liked about the room is the bed - everything else was not great for me. The beds were triple bunks and I had the middle, it’s not possible to sit upright on the bed which is a bit annoying. 15 people in one room is also quite a lot, though it never seriously interfered with my ability to pack and get around. I thought the floors were dirty and the bathroom had this very “bathroomy” smell. The door also bangs so loudly - needs a damper. It just doesn’t look clean and the floors are often completely wet from the showers. Everything just seems old and convoluted - I see that the building was probably used as something else and converted to a hostel, but it felt like an incomplete job. There was also a lot of add-on charges, like lockers to store luggage in, laundry (€7), towels (€4), etc. my advice would be to pack light, and make sure to bring the essentials.
I enjoyed the lively atmosphere on the ground floor, always fun to see what’s going on that night. The entire complex seems really cool and industrial-looking, and it’s just fun to be around. The location is excellent, city Center is reachable but the area is just far enough to not be rowdy. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, the lighting, storage and charging ports were all handy.

United KingdomMinor point - 3 hooks on the back of the bathroom door. 6 occupants so nowhere for the other 3 people to hang towels.
Great vibe in the place when you enter. Bar area with music and people mingling/chilling. Staff were attentive and helpful. Good shower with lots of hot water and nice handwash. I was in a 6 bed all female room with en suite Small shelf above the bed to put a few items and a reading light which was great. Big storage drawer on wheels under the bed - bring a largish padlock or you can buy one at reception.

United KingdomIt hasn't been cleaned anone of the days, unfortunately. There was no bathroom mat or even a towel when you step out of the shower. The water was alright though. There was also a bad smell in the bathroom.
20 minutes to walk to the Temple bar and the rest of the attractions. It was not too loud at night, although could hear people hanging around singing or making noise. But for me, it was not annoying. Used my earplugs. Mind the fact if you need a hairdryer, you need to ask reception for it. Liked that there are at least 3-4 cafes to grab coffee and breakfast.
