Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing to dislike. Nostalgic and exactly what it says it is - a historical pub and former home converted into rooms above. We found a wee bit of friendly noise and a shared bathroom added to its charm. (In case of emergency, multiple toilets were available downstairs).
Thankful for the gracious hospitality, history lesson(s) and for accommodating our special circumstance (elderly dog) during Glin Castle Open Day. We also appreciated the private sitting room and close proximity to the river. Killarney is little more than an hour away.

United StatesWe got here around 10:30pm and check in was easy. Walked into the bar and we were greeted by the host. We were taken to our room which was in a lovely house across the street. Once we dropped off our bags, we went back to the bar for some drinks. It was a great Irish pub experience. The next morning we walked a bit around town. The host were very friendly and helpful

ItalyThe room was right above a pub and hence was extremely loud even at late night. I enquired with the staff whether they had another room available and he rudely replied that I knew that the room was in a pub so what was I expecting from it. He said he would turn off at least the music but he actually turned it on again when I went back in the room. These rooms should not be rented or, if rented, it should be clearly stated that it is impossible to sleep at night.
We met the owner at breakfast and was very kind and gave us nice tips on places to visit.

United KingdomThe room wasn’t very clean, could do with replacing the bedding. Thursday night there was loud music and singing till 1/1:30ish, the room I was in you could have heard everything in the bar. Definitely no sea view.
The staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was grand.

United KingdomBreakfast was not excellent like reviews said. It was self serviced sandwich and tea making and we had an awful night's sleep due to the rooms being over a very busy and loud pub! And despite the smoking area out the back customers stood on street below our window at top of their voices. Continued to do so waiting for taxis until almost 4am!

United KingdomThe bed was uncomfortable, and small (double) the mattress old and sloped at the sides, the bedding was old and faded, the towels were old, small and thin. The velux windows had blinds but there were other windows with no coverings so early morning light disrupted any sleep. ‘Bathroom’ was in need of a good clean No food available at the pub associated with property, arrived at supper time, only options in the town were a Kebab shop or Chinese takeaway. Breakfast offering was sliced loaf, packeted ham and packeted cheese with Instant coffee.
We didn’t like anything about the property. It is advertised as having a ‘Private en-suite’ - the shower and loo were shared with another bedroom with no means of locking the door from the bathroom. The glass doors from loo to both bedrooms was a little unsettling.

United StatesRooms over the bar were noisy.
Breakfast was adequate and the facility was not modernized. Advertised as a bed and breakfast but breakfast was continental, not an Irish breakfast. Reviews claimed to be a good family B&B but my family was separated as the facility had rooms across the street from each other.

United StatesIt was exactly what we were looking for.
We chose to stay over a pub for 2 nights to experience local ambience. It was wonderful the host shared stories of the town of glin. The pub has been in the family for five generations. The patrons were awesome friendly . We saw our first hurling competition and singing and laughter throughout!
