How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Teresa was a phenomenal host - she really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and at home at Guaire House. She even let my mom borrow her rain jacket to keep her warm and dry on our excursions! The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Teresa provided local recommendations on things to do and places to eat, and checked with us each day on what time and style we wanted our breakfast. Staying with Teresa was one of the biggest highlights of our trip - thank you so much Teresa for everything you did to make our stay extra special!

This property was excellent in all ways.
Teresa was an exceptional host. The house and accommodation was beautiful, clean and extremely comfortable. Teresa allowed us to drop our bags off early which was so accommodating. The house is easy walking distance to the town centre and Teresa provided excellent recommendations for site seeing tours and restaurants. She couldn’t be more helpful!

Wow. This place exceeded our expectations. Teresa was a wonderfully friendly host, dropping everything to help us when we had troubles with our credit card. Her knowledge of the area and suggestions of where to go and where to eat were great. The bed was gloriously comfy and the room was clean and furnished beautifully. Breakfast was delicious (we loved her homemade Irish soda bread!) and tables were laid with white tablecloths for a nice dining experience. Location was an easy walking distance to the main centre of town.

Theresa was a welcoming host and shared local information about things to do including walking trails and hikes. We very much enjoyed our stay; as if we were visiting someone we already knew. The Guaire House is in a quiet neighborhood, but easily walkable to the main Killarney town. Great breakfast and room.

Everything was great.
Host Teresa was so nice and very hard working, very kind and helpful and made great breakfast. Home was beautiful, clean and well-appointed. Room was very nice size. Location excellent - out of the busy-ness and ver quiet but only 10-15 minutes walk into town.

We loved our hostess who chatted with us and gave us some travel tips. The rooms are beautiful and cozy. The breakfast is delicious. You can walk to town from the house. What a great stay we had!!

We could not fault this accommodation.
The location was excellent in a quiet residential area very close to the town centre. The host was beyond excellent and breakfast was superb. We would strongly recommend this accommodation to anyone.

Due to the town itself being rather crowded, we didn't want to drive to dinner and shopping, so we walked. The location of the home was a 15 minute walk to dining, which is a bit longer than tired travelers prefer. We would have loved 5 minutes closer, but this was one of our favorite places to stay in all of Ireland! We were in the country for almost 2 weeks, and moved from day to day, so we stayed in many locations. This one is TOP notch!
The room was large with comfortable and clean furnishings. The bathroom was nice sized, and the breakfast provided was somewhat personalized to us, and not expected. The owner was very knowledgable of the area, and gave excellent dining and travel tips.

Everything was top notch. Zero complaints.
Theresa was very welcoming, knowledgeable about the many businesses and activities, and worked to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The house was exceptionally clean, well decorated, and beds were very comfortable. The location was also quite close to the active downtown, as a quick 10 minute walk and you're there.
