How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No kettle in room. You can't make tea properly with a N'Espresso machine. Dinner was expensive.
Breakfast was very good. The staff were very nice and friendly.

I'm vegan and there was very little for me. No vegan pastries, no vegan spread - this really isn't acceptable for a hotel of your calibre. Flora does a vegan marg, doesn't cost much and I had already informed you I was vegan so it's not good enough.
gorgeous fresh orange juice at breakfast - showed there was great care in the kitchen.

water pressure seems to have been low on our last day so couldn’t shower properly. water kept coming out of tap and hook to pull up for shower head wouldn’t stay up

A lack of air circulation/ventilation in the building in general & no mechanical ventilation in the bedroom made it difficult to sleep.
I liked the breakfast & the leisure centre. The staff were friendly & the room was clean & comfortable

Apartment bathrooms missing toilet pieces
The staff was really attentive and professional. The apartment had some asthetic issues, due to American design bathrooms and pieces missing. The size of the apartment was good. The hotel facilities were also satisfactory. We had dinner at the hotel and were very pleased with the food and service. Will come back, but probably stay in hotel rooms rather the apartment.

When reserving the room, we requested a king bed and received an email from booking saying that our request had been approved. Upon arrival, we were told that they would be unable to accommodate our request. I showed the email from Booking but didn’t help. Room was clean but very small. Had two small windows that barely opened with absolutely no view at all. Not what I was expecting.
Staff was extremely accommodating.

Only compliant was the room was hot so we needed the fan on all night. But it didn't stop us sleeping!
Fantastic location, gorgeous view from our bedroom window of the harbour. Food was really good in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was delicious too.

Bedrooms are hot at night - could benefit from some Air Con.
Location is top class - views of teh harbour, central to local pubs etc.. We had lunch there on a couple of occassions and was very impressed (best chowder I've had in a long time).

As Senior citizens climbing into a bath to shower. Small things like tissues in room which most places provide.

The s/c apts were shabby. We refused to stay in the initial apt allocated to us. It was very dark with broken toilet fittings. The hotel is under new mgmt & I'm assuming the apts have yet to be upgraded. Not a picture on a wall. Kitchen is well kitted out but overall very sparse. Stairwell woodwork was cracked with paint falling off. VERY expensive!!!
Schull is a stunning place & the hotel is in a fab location overlooking the pier/harbour. The leisure centre was a bonus Food in the restaurant was gorgeous View from apartment was stunning Staff were helpful Hotel is being upgraded and it shows...except for the apartments
