Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomVery noisy. Kids running/shouting in corridors at midnight etc (it is school holidays but even so). Restaurant arrangements were poor. There is a booking system but it was far too busy and crowded at breakfast. Staff were working flat out but still could not cope. The milk on our table for tea had actually Curdled! They replaced immediately but should not have happened at all. Long delay to bring tea and coffee which is made worse by waiting until the toast is ready before bringing it. Special order (veggy sausages) also took a long while and was way after the tea so the toast was cold before it could be used for hot breakfast items. (beans on toast, eggs on toast etc). Breakfast room was very VERY crowded however and if so many guests are staying perhaps breakfast times should be extended or extra room made available (bar area etc) Poor choice of vegetarian food. Seems like a wide choice but much is very spicy and not everyone is a fan of hot food! TV was quite small and low down on wall. Needs to have a bigger one or at least higher up the wall so it can be watched in bed. Carpet design in lobby and up the stairs makes it look like it is washed out - might be worth upgrading this with a more modern design (such as is in the corridors). Only the food is a deal-breaker though. The other comments were niggles rather than anything else and it was a good stay
The view was good. All the things one would expect were all very good, excellent powerful and hot shower. Water hot (often a problem with other hotels and it is essential for a safe wet shave) and very good lighting (including an illuminated mirror). Also had a shaver point for electric. 👏👏👏 Good supply of power points although a couple had trouble with fitting phone charger units underneath. Good supply of tea (Barry’s too - so an extra point) and coffee. Nice newish TV. Gym was also good. Some of the equipment is quite old (rowing machine for example) but is very well maintained and the fact that it had two of the highest standard pieces of kits (Concept 2 rower and Ergbike) is also a plus point. There was an efficient fan in the gym but there were also windows which were not opened and given that we are still in the midst of a worldwide COVID outbreak perhaps should be. considered. Great to be given towels in the gym rather than having to rely on them from our own rooms which so many hotels seem to do nowadays. Nice to see COVIOD measures in place (screens at reception) signs asking guests to wear masks etc (Although I think we were the only ones who did) Also good to see “traditional” little bottles of toiletries. Too many hotels “greenwash” by claiming that they supply fixed toiletries in an effort to be environmentally friendly when no one is really fooled as we all know it is merely a cost-cutting exercise. Little bottles of shampoo etc are one of the main reasons for staying in a hotel rather than a house let! 😉

United KingdomOn first night in bar chose the fish of the day and asked could the crushed potatoes be changed to chips. the waitress checked with the kitchen but was told that the potatoes came with the fish but this could be swapped to chips for €2 extra. A measley €2. It’s not the cost that wrankles, it’s the fact that other hotels and restaurants would change that no problem for no extra charge. Given we had paid a fair sum for the accommodation to have to pay extra for something so minor is a bit rich on the hotel’s part. On the second night my wife asked could she get a salad (she asked for tomatoes, beetroot, cheese and pineapple), because all they offered was some lettuce leaves. The answer was - no, despite a range of salad being added to other dishes. Maybe some flexibility by the bar kitchen would not go amiss.
Very clean and comfortable hotel. Bed and room were great. The breakfasts are amazing, great choice and a fry up that’s as good as anywhere we have been.

IrelandWhile the people serving were exceptionally friendly and helpful, we had a number of instances where we had to repeat orders a number of time. On one occasion, an order was taken and the staff member just disappeared. We waited for a pavlova desert on one evening for almost an hour and when it arrived, it had no fruit. I appreciate staff are hard to get these days but these are exceptionally intelligent young people so it shouldn't be a huge stretch to tell them when they get an order, write it down and stick with it until its complete. In relation to the pavlova, it might have been better to say it was off the menu as I suspect the delay was caused by trying to find fruit but who knows :-)
Staff were very friendly, happy and always willing to help. Room was good and breakfast and dinner were good.

United StatesWe tend to eat early, and in doing so missed the crowds from motor coach tours that were staying at the hotel.
Staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. Our room was huge, which was a lucky break for us. Everything was clean and tidy. Looking over the golf course while dining was especially nice. Plentiful free parking. The hotel was a perfect location for taking the first Swilly Ferry to Rathmullen the next morning.
