Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt was very cosy with lovely bedrooms, a comfy couch, and a nice, big open kitchen but the best was the magnificent view. The hosts were really very friendly and we felt very welcome. The music in de local pub and the beautiful cliffealks at Bellycotton, Waterford and Ardmore made our holiday complete.

IrelandThere was no hand soap in the bathroom and the glass in the shower could have been a little bit cleaner but the shower floor was clean. Went to local shop to buy soap and as there is only one shop in the village, the prices were not competitive...but needs must and all of that.
Great location and wonderful views. Very friendly hosts.

IrelandWe had a lovely relaxing holiday, the house was so close to lots of great beaches. It was lovely and comfortable. Our dog was welcome too. We had everything we needed in the house and Helen our host was very welcoming, She had tea and biscuits for us on arrival and brought homemade scones to us during the week. She was there if we needed anything during our stay. Bring everything you need for the holiday as Ardmore itself is very quiet off season .

United KingdomThe WiFi was very unreliable but probably due to the location.
Nice property in a good location for a base around south east Ireland. Spacious house with good outdoor space for the dog. Very useful covered passage for storing coats, boots etc. Very warm and cosy. Within walking distance to a lovely sandy beach and a short drive from Ardmore which was a nice seaside town with lots of interesting places to visit. The owner was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay.

IrelandThe internet coverage was very poor
Located within few minutes walk from the Whiting Bay beach and short distance drive from Ardmore, Youghal and Dungarvan. The property comes as self contained unit with 2 bedrooms, spacious living room and fully equipped kitchen as well as private entrance. The host, Helen is very professional and kindly greeted us on arrival with tea and biscuits. Very peaceful place in the countryside.

IrelandReally the accommodation was perfect with everything you could ask for, apart from the beds which my husband and I found quite uncomfortable. The kids were happy with their bed so maybe it was just we are older and more cranky 😉
It was a fabulous location with beautiful beaches and nice attractions close by. The host was really helpful and told us about a little beach close by ... a real hidden gem. We would have missed it otherwise as it was not signposted so really glad our host was so thoughtful to tell us about it.

IrelandNothing. The question doesn't arise. Can't think of anything that we didn't like. Top marks, ten out of ten.
We liked the family-friendly nature of the accommodation with plenty of outdoor space for the children and our pet dog. We had great and very warm and welcoming hosts that were very easy going and easy to get along with. Also, the location of the accommodation in relation to local amenities was excellent with Ardmore Open Farm and Mini Zoo close by for the children, as well as Ardmore beach and cliff walk, and Whiting Beach which was virtually on our doorstep just a couple of minutes down the road. The towns of Youghal, Dungarvan and Cobh were also close by.

Ardmore about 7km and Youghal 17km so within easy reach for shopping. Comfortable good sized bedrooms and bathroom with excellent shower. Towels are provided. IrelandNo drier to dry the clothes if the weather was bad. That's it!
We loved the peace, the solitude and the fabulous views. It was a short drive to Youghal, 25 minutes to Dungarvan and an hour's drive to Cork and Tramore. 10 minutes walk from Whiting Bay, an absolutely beautiful beach.

Wonderful stay. Very peaceful and close to the beach. Only 15 min drive to Youghal which has everything. Helen is a wonderful host and is on hand if there are any problems. The apartment is well laid out, spotlessly clean and spacious with ample parking and outside space. I loved the view from the sitting room of the beach. It's a 2 minute drive which is nothing or you can walk.. There are plug in radiators for heating which heats the place very quickly if needed. Once warm it stays warm. It is quiet, no busy roads, no traffic noises, peaceful. There are 2 bedrooms with double beds with enough space for us to put down an air mattress for a 3 Yr old. One of the best places I've ever stayed.

ItalyI'm not quite sure where to start. I am still speechless thinking that this property is even advertised as a place to stay. We spent 30 minutes here instead of the 5 days that we had booked and pre-paid for. The property is advertised as detached, but it is actually a converted garage connected to the owner's house. The place is very run down and the smell of dampness was unbearable. All is really basic. We emailed the host through booking.com after leaving the property but never got neither an acknowledgement nor a reply. Do not stay here and do not give your money to a host that doesn't offer basic decent accommodation and good customer service. The minimum you can ask for in hospitality?! I am still astonished at how this property has a rating of above 9!!
The location was probably the only positive.
