Very well located, cheaper than most of the other hostels and good place to stay, as I did, a few nights "just to sleep" (I didn't eat there)

- too dirty - smells like dirty socks (the blankets of the beds, that were meant to be clean, smelled too much) - only two plugs in one 10 bed room - dirty walls, floors and ceiling

Dirty rooms, sheets unchanged between guests. Rooms smelled of cigarette smoking smoke. Other guests seemed drunk in the middle of the day. Felt unsafe as soon as we arrived. Didn’t stay the night. Left as soon as we arrived.

We arrived late at night and our first impressions were disappointing. There were people smoking outside and a strong scent of weed. Next up the lady at the front desk was very unpleasant and made us feel rather uncomfortable. She gave us our key and told the way to our dorm. As we went up the rickety stairs the smell of smoke got worse and as we reached our room next to the bathroom we could see the mold already. We opened the door to our room where we were greeted with the most unpleasant smell to date and 6 rather loudly snoring people. We then tested our bunk beds and found stains on the linnen. As there were no lockers to put our heavily packed backpacks with quite expensive gear in it we were forced to have put our gear on the bed and sleep with it. Which would have been questionable since the beds were not sturdy in the first place. As it was late and we were growing wary of our place to stay we decided to discuss. As we walked out to get out of the smoke to discuss, getting a closer look at the bathroom and thence plugging our noses we walked out quickly and after a few words and glances between us surrounded by drunk and stoned creepy men we decided to give up and our parents helped us to get a nice stay at a hotel instead. The next morning we went into town to buy some supplies for our upcoming backpacking trip. As we got a good impression of the city we were quite pleased to find out that this hostel has spectacularly bad reviews all around town. And had many a local tell us to never go back and please spread the word!

The lower bunk bed has much to little head room so you cannot sit up straight on the edge of the bed, without leaning out

It was well run and clean. They put thought into placing people in the right rooms. The quick easy access to town center, train and bus station is brilliant.

kitchen is disgusting. only one lid works. there is no scale to go up bunk bed and no barrier at the top bed. we had to change one of the bed because they didn’t get it ready for us. we stayed two nights and I left n’y water bottle between the two nights and they threw it away when they ´´´cleaned ´´´ the room and when I asked to get it back they said what can I do I’m not the one that cleaned it

The location was just perfect for site seeing an 10 min walk to national park!! Perfect place to stay before carinthoole climb, John o sullivan taxi from there very reasonable price0878257182 straight to cronans yard!! Ring in advance!!

The toilet smelled terrible and the shower!!! It stank the whole room. The bedding looked terrible and stank too. The old mattresses and pillows stank of mold. The kitchen looked terrible. Just one working burner on the stove...

There was a lot of noise and no noise insulation, every time a door closed somewhere in the building my top bunk shook. The kitchen was very dirty and we ended up having to go elsewhere to eat/prepare our food.

Very noisy. We could hear every footstep from the rooms above. Obviously to be expected in a hostel so we weren't mad, but something to be considered if you're expecting a peaceful night sleep

Was looking for just a bed for the night while staying in Killarney and this was perfect. There was a shared kitchen and living space which we didn't avail of but was very convenient. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the bed was surprisingly very comfortable

The staff were quite rude not attentive at all rooms weren't clean at all. It is a very badly run organisation. I had money issues where i was overcharged although sorted there was no empathy in the staff dealing with the situation and they also refused to refund the mistake with cash. It was refunded to my account in a matter of days but felt like a weight on my shoulder as the mistake was substantial. The rooms aren't cleaned properly although thiswas expected from previous reviews ive read so we weren't surprised.

there is no parking at the property. this was extremely inconvenient & not noted on the booking. we were advised on the booking that we would get 4 single beds to sleep 4 people. when we got there, there was 2 single beds (bunk beds) and a double bed. this didn’t fit our requirements and was not what was listed on our booking confirmation.

Well everything was great, honestly, except cranky woman. I'd say the bad reviews come from meeting her.

So I saw some bad reviews that made me nervous about staying here but actually it was great value for what we paid. I was going to put up a great review until I got shouted at by a really aggressive cranky woman this morning, telling me to check out because my room is booked for tonight. I offered her 20 euro for an extra hour so we could pack and go.

There was huge stink in the room and it was impossible to sleep. Rooms were dirty. I don't recommend that hostel if necessary then only for one night. There is much netter one in Killarney.
