Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChileMy first room smelled bad, people were smoking and drinking inside the room, so the front-desk change my room, there is only one bathroom for man, 2 floor downstairs. There is not kitchen to save your things, i wouldnt recommend the place for more than one night.
The price is not bad, and there is a supermarket close to the place

United KingdomThe location is decent. 20 mins walk to city centre and about 5 mins to a bus stop to airport / other places. The price is decent, the bed is comfy and has a storage space in the room but you need to bring a lock there (able to put a backpack in there but not a suitcase). The staff are very nice and they are very reasonable as well. During my stay,I lost my room keys and yes I have paid for a new one which is fine. When they found my original card at the last day of check out, they refunded me for getting a new key which I am a bit shocked but very grateful!

AustraliaWhen we arrived we had to wait over an hour to check in. I understand it’s busy and a lot of other people were checking in at the same time but there has to be a better way. It didn’t need to take them that long to check everyone in, and if nothing else they could have let us leave our bags so we could explore the city. But the worst thing was the water wasn’t working. For most of the day there was no water AT ALL, and then in the evening it would appear to be fixed (thank goodness) but then it would be gone the next morning. As though the water kept running out or something. Except there was always water in the kitchen downstairs so I don’t know what was happening. This was the case for our entire stay. Another guest said it had been going on all week (we only had to deal with it for a few days). And the staff didn’t seem super concerned even though it is ridiculous for an entire hostel to have no water for days on end.
The decor was cute and there was a pool & table tennis table.

ChinaEverything else: 1. Waited for 1 hour to check in 2. No water at Levin Hostel Mountjoy. I asked for a refund, the reception said that I had to request on booking and it is their manager to decide whether I will get a refund. I called booking.com, which requested the manager to give me a refund, but nobody responded. I called the office. I sent an email. Booking.com also sent an email. But no one responded. 3. After waiting for half a day, I found out that the water was fixed but it only worked for 2 hours, and then there was no water once again. By the time I wanted to have shower around midnight, the water was gone. What is their solution? Walking to Levin Hostel George (the other branch) for 9 minutes to get shower, and come back. 4. I then went to the reception again asking for a refund and they said no. I requested once again to talk to their manager and they said it is midnight, you have to wait until daytime to do it, while I actually waited half a day for a response. 5. After bargaining with them for 20 minutes, they decided to call their manager (so this guy does exist) and the other branch of the Levin hostel (Levin hostel George) - so there is a solution but they just wouldn't do it until you almost have a mental breakdown. And this time I was finally allowed to move to Levin hostel George - it was worse than getting refund, but at this point I really didn't want to fight for my basic human right to use water anymore, especially at midnight. 6. Levin hostel George is generally good, but the room I was in had no tap water initially. The shower was working (and we should celebrate this fact ). After I told the reception, they fixed the water tap. There was a pin in the garden that went through my flip-flop to my left foot. The washing machine was okay, but the dryer didn't function well. I paid set 60 minutes to dry my clothes but it stopped at 40 minutes so my clothes were half wet. However, living in Levin hostel George overall is okay to me.
The location is good and the beds are comfortable, with the curtains to give you privacy- probably the only two good things about this hostel!

GreeceThe water wasn't working most of the day which is very unhygienic especially when you share your bathroom with others. They say it's not their fault but it's something that happens regularly. All the days I was there, the water was not working

United KingdomWhat we thought might be a fun hostel turned out to have a lot of people living there long term. We also found a burger in one of our beds when we got there which didn’t set a good start and the room was about 30degrees because our Spanish roommate had turned the radiator to max and shut the windows
Beds where comfy and seemed like you got value for money

Good location near the center. Clean comfortable rooms, comfortable beds. Photos correspond. The storage compartment under the bed is low, so suitcases can be left in the storage room. Comfortable kitchen on the basement with everything you need (kettles, microwave, refrigerators). It is convenient to navigate using the painted signs on the walls. I recommend it as it is a good option at a good price.

United KingdomOur stay at Leevin Hostel was overall enjoyable, though there were a few factors that left room for improvement: The noise level from the slamming door to the shared bedroom and loud talking in the surrounding area of the bedroom could be disruptive at times, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Privacy was another concern, as the privacy curtains on the beds were prone to come off the rails frequently. Lastly, while the hostel's location is conveniently near the city centre, it takes about 30 minutes to get to the attractions. This was no issue for us though as we walk often with no trouble.
The staff were welcoming and accommodating, making us feel right at home, and even helped us with additional requests during our stay. The hostel's atmosphere was lively and inclusive, with plenty of opportunities to socialize and meet fellow travellers. The shared room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The facilities all around the hostel were also being cleaned regularly - including the bathroom areas. The common area had a pool table and a ping pong table, which helped us unwind after long days of travel. The kitchen and dining area also provided ample space to eat with other guests as well as alone if you prefer.

United Kingdomafter i finished checked-in, went to the toilet and found out that there was no suppy of water. went to the reception and asked why there was no water. The receptionist said there was a shortage of water in Dublin. So i asked how will i use the toilet or shower? then she replied that i had to go to the other branch walk for 10 minutes and use their facilities to take a shower or use the toilet. it was a really bad experience. they should have cancelled my booking or even move their guests to other branch. i payed the right amount but i did not get the full amenities specially WATER-basic that needed most. I felt scammed.
