How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Shower needs fixing. Pressure is awful. Struggled to get a proper clean.
Comfy beds. Curtains over bed for keeping out the light. Easy location.

The check in process was an absolute nightmare! I had checked in online before arriving, my friends and I arrived between 17:30 & 18:00 at the hostel, went to reception and I was given a buzzer as there was a queue. I asked how long we would have to wait and they said around an hour, we were on a tight schedule so I said that we would go for food and a drink then come back to check in. Came back around 19:00 and we still couldn't check in! We were given a buzzer and I asked how long we would have to wait and the staff couldn't give us an answer. I don't understand how or why it takes so long to check in when you can do so from 15:00. I advised it's a dorm of four, I checked in online and we have somewhere to be before 20:00. The staff didn't seem to care, I had to change my clothes and they offered a small bathroom for me to do so. I am aware that there were a number of guests to check in but if you are running on tight schedule or have somewhere to be this is not at all ideal. We came back to the hostel after the event we attended and there was no problem checking in but it was way to late at night to do so! So my advice is if you want to stay here, clear your plans for the day/evening because you'll spend the time waiting to check in!
Four bed dorm was spacious and comfortable for the time we spent there.

We spent about 1 hour on check in due to long queue and incorrect room assignement by the crew. The common kitchen was very dirty in the morning. For the ammount of money we paid the service was quite dissappointing.

There is no lift, although it is quite a long way to the top floor. The first staff member I met was unfriendly. The map showed bathrooms and toilets next door, but they were closed for some reason. That the bathroom was far away from the toilet.
Many Brazilians stay here and it feels more Brazilian than Irish. Many long-term residents live here. They were all friendly. The facility is too large and resembles a maze. The female room was clean, quiet and comfy to stay in. There is on-street parking in front of the hostel. There is ample space and parking costs €4 per hour. Maximum 3hours.0am-7am is free. Note that the parking service guy comes almost every day to cut tickets, even at night.

The hotel staff spoke Spanish, and the customer who speaks that language has more rights than you. If you do not understand or speak the language, you are not welcome. Also, the hotel staff did not know how to talk to the customers, they were angry. and lack of legal and professional knowledge. Also, there is no cleanliness in this hotel, bathrooms and everywhere, I believe that money is more important than the reputation and work of customers.
I have not seen anything that can be found or praised in that hotel.

The toilet are very far, I live in 1st floor, the toilet at 3rd floor, and no lift , only walk staircase and a lot of junctions.
The room is big and bed nice, got privacy and got their light.

A man who works shift night he is disrespectful I didn't like him the way he is talking to guest.

It's a hostel for long-term stay rather than for travelling. I stayed one night and did not fit my purpose. The room was on the 3rd floor + various corridors. The bathroom and the kitchen at -1 were both very far. I did not feel comfortable. I have not done dinner or breakfast
Good price. Nicely decorated. Plenty of room in the common areas.

Pricewise it's very fair, the location is in the very center. Can't complain about anything tbh.
I really loved the friendly staff who was very approachable and helpful. They were always professional and genuinely willing to help.

I recently stayed at this hostel, and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the atmosphere was vibrant. The common areas provided a great space to socialize, and the location was excellent. Overall, a fantastic budget-friendly option for travelers.

Staff were unfriendly and barely speak English. They did not want to refund me although they said they would. I made a request to change my departure date and they denied it. They promised to give me the money back as I had to leave before the expected date but never actually did. Also the amenities were not ok. The showers have only one option, you can't change the temperature and I could not shower as the water was too hot. They made you deposit 50euros at arrival, it's a lot of money for such amenities!
