Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesModern renovation. Walking to restaurant and out in nature. Great showers and lots of hot water. Nespresso coffee makers in our rooms. The only down side was no where to gather and the fridge and microwave were downstairs.

AustraliaI loved my stay here!!! The village was beautiful and the locals were so friendly. Everything is within walking distance. The lodge itself is stunning. I especially loved the beautiful artwork that adorned the rooms. Also, coming back to the bathroom after a busy day of sightseeing was perfect. I definitely plan on coming back one day soon.

United KingdomThe black towels are really fluffy and smelt great but left black fluff everywhere. Maybe a different colour to avoid all the fluff everywhere. Also, may I suggest to put a note in both cottages to remind people that they aren’t alone and to respect each cottage’s guests from maybe 11pm to 7am. Sadly the walls aren’t soundproofed :( On our first night we were kept awake by the next door’s people until at least 00.30am with loud voices and shouting and doors slamming at 5am ish. But the 2nd night was perfect as they left :-)
It’s a perfect location if you want to explore Cork and the amazing surroundings (loved the coastline). The fridge and microwave are a great addition and we found some wooden cutlery too. However there was only 2 forks so had to have dinner with spoons for one night :) The cottage is easy to find as Paudie gave us great directions. The heating is so good too and can be adjusted, it heated up very quickly and gave us a very cosy night! Nice touch with the tea and coffee facilities but remember to bring your own milk. Also our room didn’t have a coffee machine but good quality instant coffee was in the room. It’s a safe location and quiet surroundings.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing to be said. The only thing to note for some- there is no television. But that could be a positive for many!
We were STUNNED by this unique and gorgeous stay! We had 2 nights to explore the Cork area and we were so grateful for the spacious room and INCREDIBLE shower. 10/10 would come back immediately. You can tell the owner takes great care and pride in the spaces he’s provided. What a pleasure to have had the chance to stay here!

New ZealandThis has easily been one of my favourite places I've stayed during my last 2 months of travel. The room was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful touches and a warm, welcoming feel. It was spacious and everything was really clean and comfortable. The area feels so peaceful and I enjoyed the walks in the nearby Glenbower Wood as well as dinner at the nearby pub. Paudrig was an excellent host with lots of great recommendations for things to do in the area and it was really nice to have some of his local knowledge. I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area 😊

We had a really lovely stay at Dromdiah Lodge. Our host, Paudrig was extremely friendly, and gave us wonderful insight into places to visit in the area, which added massively to our overall experience. The room was spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and the shower absolutely awesome. We loved our three day stay at the Dromdiah Lodge and would happily recommend it to others.

IrelandPaudrig has a stunning place to stay! The room was simply stunning, so comfortable and warm. The area was so peaceful! Every little thing has been thought of, from a fridge, to microwave, to coffee machine. The artwork decorating the building was beautiful, added character to the place. The shower was simply amazing - best we have had on our 12 day trip! The bed was so comfy too. A perfect base for exploring the surroinding area. Sandy my dog was also very relaxed on her stay! Thank you again Paudrig, it was heavenly!
