How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The restaurant had limited options for vegetarians with only two mains, one of which was not available.
I asked for a quiet room and that's exactly what I got. I didn't hear a thing and had a great nights sleep. Everything was super clean and the hotel staff were very helpful and accomodating. Got a great recommendation from reception for a beach on Garryvoe and had a great swim in the evening.

Service in dining area
The location was good the food was good but service poor. Long wait for courses. The room was clean and comfortable. Just one thing bugged me tge painting jnnroom gad three brushes of paint across what otherwise was nice painting curious why or is this abstract art.

Busy streets can make access to parking a little tricky and spaces fill quickly especially when there are hotel events. No help was offered with luggage on arrival. Staff were pleasant but rather remote - the hotel would certainly feel more welcoming with more of a personal touch!
Midleton Park Hotel is a comfortable, well-run and busy lodging place very close to the heart of Midleton, and within walking distance of all its attractions. We did not take advantage of either the bar-restaurant or the exercise facility although both appeared to be popular with guests. Our room and bathroom were large, clean and well appointed, and very quiet despite the proximity to a busy road and large groups of visitors. Breakfast was generous and tasty and worth the additional fee.

Bedroom TV could have been bigger with more channels.

Apparently, according to a sibling, you don't have a swim suit dryer ! Face cloths would be good in the bathroom please..

Went to bar for a drink in the evening it was very open and noisy. Didn't stay for a second one.
Greeting at reception was lovely. Room was very good. Breakfast was good with a good selection. Check in and out was very smooth.

Room was forever away from reception. Construction in progress. Bit annoying when trying to catch up with some afternoon sleep. Food could and probably should have been of a higher standard considering the prices. Breakfast included, just felt like it was poor quality ingredients, mass produced to fill plates. Instead of better quality ingredients from local farms etc.
Location was fine. Staff were very friendly and courteous.

Breakfast good but every day bacon was very dry, shame as it had a lovely taste but texture not good.
Well run hotel with very friendly staff. Comfy rooms. Location good for us as we were visiting relatives who live in Midleton.
