How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Slight breach of Professionalism on checkin. As I was in the process of checkin with a very pleasant Receptionist when her colleague approached me and bluntly said " I have to take my colleague into a meeting now! Take a seat and the other Receptionist over there will check you in when she is free Ok". So I had no option to move from that desk and wait to resume my Checkin process, when the other lady was free. But I must add the Lunch servers were very friendly and efficient. Housekeeping doing a great job too. Thank you for the FANTASTIC COMFORTABLE ROOM!
What a delightful surprise with my room! Large bright comfy room , overlooking the river. The pillows were extremely comfortable. Everything laid on to make my stay relaxing and refreshing. The energy in my room eas so good, I had unbroken sleep for 5 hours. Onsite Complementary Parking.

Rooms very warm even when we turned off the heating. We had to go looking for a toilet roll from the cleaning staff for the room after it had been cleaned.
Breakfast was very good, Room was nice except for view. Very close to the town and shops, bars and restuarents. staff friendly. Restuarent lovely.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was fine, decent size bathroom, shaver point did not work. Issue with laundry but was resolved on check out.

Breakfast selection not great. Mini croissants and muffins looked and tasted like they were from lidl or aldi, not a gud continental breakfast. No outdoor seating area to have a drink over looking the river, so outdoor seating at all. Bathroom could dowith an update, especially the yellow brownish anti slip mat for shower as it should have been white. Should be replaced as don't cost much, very off putting when using shower. Basic 4 channels on TV no satellite TV you would expect from 4 star Hotel. Would not stay again. Would opt for Shereton instead same price but better value.
The staff are lovely and the hotel was very clean. Location lovely and close to amenities.

Room was a bit warm and the thermostat adjustments didn't seem to help much, but we could open a window so that was helpful. The swimming pool water and changing rooms were a bit cold for families playing in the water, good for swimming.
Family room was spacious and clean, perfect for a family of 4. Staff was helpful, access to the pool was great for the kids and not crowded.

The front desk person seemed troubled about interacting with us on two occasions. Everyone else was great.
We enjoyed the location and our view of the river. Breakfast was very good and for the most part the staff was excellent.

The bathroom needs attention. Broken tiles filled in with grout needs replacing. If you have a bath as I did you can not reach the products as they are fixed to the wall and too high to access. No holder for the flexible shower hose. I did not. Hear an extractor fan working. and the bathroom got very hot steamed up.
Clean and functional. Good breakfast.

Only one critique and that was we thought bathroom was dated. High step into bath, felt quite vulnerable climbing in and out for shower.
Location and convenience for us going to a rugby match.
