How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The only thing that I would fault is the double bed consisting of two single beds joined together. There should be a continental breakfast option as well.

Two issues: 1. Seating in main restaurant for dinner. 2. No heat on in hotel rooms. Issue 1. Seating in main restaurant for dinner...options were a very high table and high chairs or ridiculous low lounge chairs and low table. My elderly parents couldn't get onto the high chairs and when they sat on the low lounge chairs couldn't get their knees under the low table. Ended up with plates on our knees. Amusing for one time only !!!! We went elsewhere for dinner on the other 2 evenings of our 3 night stay. I booked an hotel so my elderly parents would be able to stay in one location for meals but I am very disappointed that we couldn't avail of the hotel restaurant for dinner because of the ridiculous seats and tables. Issue 2. The hotel rooms were cold, heating was not on, per hotel staff, this was a money saving endeavour and staff on site cannot turn on hotel heating!?. Had to ask for portable heaters for rooms. We stayed in October!
Close to town centre. Helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet in the breakfast restaurant with proper tables and chairs. Delicious food.

Very noising outside from 1 until 3.30am on a Thursday night, probably from groups leaving as directly above front door. Also charged twice in error and took 2 weeks to get refund but all sorted now.
Lovely hotel, clean, friendly and comfortable with great breakfast.

Bar staff were poorly trained tables not cleared had to ask for them to be wiped down. Had to get my own cutlery. Had to go looking for staff.

Bath panel needed attention as.it.looked.like it was removed at some point and badly put back and could see some rot on the wood but not really an issue.
Beds were so comfortable and the duvets fresh and clean. Nice quality bedding and linen. Yes a few glitches but otherwise a lovely hotel and enjoyed the stay and definitely would recommend it. Thank you to all the lovely staff in the bistro and breakfast room also!

We went for dinner in the bar area, no one came to clean the table I had to go and get a menu, then I had to go to the bar order my food and drinks after 35 minutes..when the good came there was no knife to butter the bread I had to use my soup spoon, staff were under alot of pressure.tgey were all very nice even with me lossing patients.

Carpark wasn't big enough for the size of hotel. We had trouble getting parking when we arrived. Would of liken to go for a day while away but we knew cause of all that was in hotel that day we couldn't move car as we knew we would of never gotten a space when we came back which was disappointing. Had to report also key card wouldn't always work on door could take many attempts to get door open.
Hotel was was lovely easy to get to into Athlone Town for a walk around. Staff all lovely we ate in the bar both days and food was so tasty. Only thing bar staff need to learn which glasses should be used for which cocktail. We did look to eat in restaurant but need to book 48 hrs in advance which we never knew as wasn't stated in any emails sent to me. Breakfast was very tasty and plenty to choose from.

Food was expensive for the quantity & quality. Common seating areas were not kept clean. Glasses, empty plates & crumbs on left for considerable time on tables & chairs.

Nothing not to like the hotel was lovely and we had a great room view it was worth the upgrade.
We didn’t get the breakfast as it was expensive compared to going to any cafe and getting breakfast there. Everyone was so nice and friendly staff in housekeeping were brilliant and the restaurant was so good 😊 we were delighted with the food if a little expensive for bar food.

The staff weren’t able to tell us where the good shopping centre was my friend and I were treated to lunch in the brassiere both of us got diarrhea very bad about an hour after eating we had the chicken the others in our group had different lunch

No hot Tub so disappointing loads of room for 1, when they have a fab pool etc.
Hotel was spotless, staff were so friendly. Luke Kelly in the leisure centre was excellent with info and polite.
