IrelandStaff on reception were welcoming and staff in Bar were pleasant but not at all attentive or interested in their jobs. They didn’t seem well trained in customer service or attention to detail of any kind. I work in hospitality and notice this. The cleaning staff were very helpful and had very good customer service. The bar staff seem very disorganised, dirty tables left outside and when we ordered coffee no offer to bring our drinks to us outside, we spilled a coffee and no one came out to clean it, just left us with a dirty table. The permanent residents of the hotel were sometimes noisy at our area, I can understand this though as they live there and they are entitled but annoying for guests paying a lot of money. It’s a pity as the hotel could be amazing if it had a much stronger focus on customer service.
Lovely and well kept grounds and Foyer is very nicely decorated and pleasant. Rooms are clean but basic for the price.

IrelandScrews found on the floor in our room, both myself and my wife stepped on them. When brought to attention of the staff, one receptionist smiled and said very good. Others just said ogmh we sent someone to hoover the room. The shower wasnt amazing, wouldnt stay in the holder and soaked the bathroom floor even when using the shower curtain.
Breakfast, dinner and pool were all very good standard.

IrelandOur tv was broken on arrival, we needed it to keep our small kids entertained when in the room between meals and trips out. We ended up having to move to another room. Having to move luggage travel cot etc first night was wasted at the keycards kept not working so as we moved to one room , we got locked out of our old room trying to move things, then locked out of new room as key card wouldn’t work. The whole weekend we had to keep going to the front desk to get our key card validated as we were locked out every time we left our room, which is not ideal with very young children.
Lots of things for children, the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

BotswanaI could smell smoke from cigarettes in the room, it was too much i think some clients do smoke inside the rooms, not good for cigarette smoke does stay for long in the room even if the room was opened for sometime and bedding changed. Kindly make it a point that , strictly no smoking in the rooms, put up big visible stickers in the rooms , then you will be a platinum hotel. Otherwise i loved everything about it.

And earlier in the evening no hot water in hand basin taps called reception and housekeeping called- to get hot water in the tap I need to turn on bath taps and then water comes to hanbasin. Same thing next morning no hot water

IrelandThe room was lovely and warm when we arrived but it turned really cold during the night and when we woke up in the morning the room was freezing. There was an electric heater but we’ve not had to use one in any other hotel. To get hot water in the sink, the water had to run for what felt like 10/15 mins. The shower thankfully didn’t have that issue. Breakfast was disappointing, I ordered poached eggs and sausages. The two poached eggs came out on a half slice of sourdough, never seen this in any other hotel or restaurant. There has always been at least a full slice of sourdough. Whether it be full slice or in two halves. My partner got the full Irish, the rashers were burned to a crisp and not edible. Photos attached.

IrelandWe have used this hotel quite a few times in the past. However, this time the standard of hygiene was very bad. There was a very bad odour in the reception area and around the corridors to the bedrooms.Some of the staff were very rude and dismissive. What used to be a beautiful hotel to stay in has become a bad experience.
