How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Geraldine is a fantastic host. The property is in a great location a short walk into the town. The property was spotlessly clean. The continental breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from. Would not hesitate booking again.

I really could not figure out the toilets and maybe a sign anout turnung on the electric to the recepticles.
The hosts, the atmosphere, the decor and the food.

We couldn't fault anything at all about our stay at Ros Dun House - it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish and we wouldn't hesitate staying there again.
Ros Dun House was spotlessly clean, the location is excellent, the breakfast was good and it was good value for money - what more could you want?

This is a real find. Close to the town with parking almost outside the door. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. It was spotless and well furnished with tea and coffee on demand. Breakfast was as good a Continental as we have ever had. Tried to think of something that wasn't 100% but failed. Has to be one of the best value for money stays in Ireland.

Central location, very friendly and welcoming owner, best continental breakfast ever, lovely comfortable bedroom and spotlessly clean house. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay there when next in Donegal town

Friendly accommodating owners! The location is so close to the centre of town but it was lovely and quiet! Very comfy bed and a tasty continental breakfast the next day, have already recommended to family as a great stay! I would 100% book a stay here again.

Couldn't figure out how to turn on the fan in the bathroom, but that's probably on us.
Excellent position, very close to the city centre. The room was good and with a comfy bed. The breakfast was very good, with several options. We only had a chance to talk with the host Geraldine in the morning, but she was very gracious and hospitable.

Perhaps warning to mind step on pulling front door closed when leaving house- I stumbled twice doing this!!
Breakfast excellent for continental breakfast, dairy free catered for as requested. Really appreciated being able to use kitchen to make cups on arrival and space to enjoy tea in kitchen/lounge area

The room is small and the double bed was up against the wall so one person has some difficulty getting in and out of bed. This would not stop me staying here again, just a comment.
Great location and correspondence with Geraldine was excellent even though we never met her. It’s a few minutes walk to the centre of town and walk along the river.

Hotel is situated about 100m from the town centre, just across the river. Wonderful short river walk starts just outside. Free parking. Very quiet area (whole town shuts down after 22h00 - eat earlier!) Great place for a (long) day drive covering the whole Donegal area, up to Fanad Head and Malin Head. Room had a full walk-in cupboard. Kitchen available at night. Very good breakfast. Very clean. Friendly owners. Dinner in Castle Pub very nice. Drive route R254 - very pretty.

Location excellent - close to town but quiet street with free, safe parking. Loved that guests had access to a living room, kitchen and outside space. Beautifully kept property. Lovely continental breakfast.
