Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe loft stairs are very steep and slippy so if you're unable to climb a ladder, I wouldn't recommend this place. It's not a negative for this place, it's just an awareness.
Such a gorgeous little spot! Very quiet and peaceful. Easy to walk around on the roads as there are footpaths.

United KingdomNothing for able bodied visitors, but the mezzanine sleeping area was tight in headroom and space; and accessed via a wooden step ladder
This novel detached studio unit, close to the owners cottage, was clean, compact and offered everything for an enjoyable stay (TV, Wifi, kettle and fridge, even a small outside table and chairs overlooking a tidy garden).

RussiaEven in a hotel hours for your checkin-check out are more convenient, so prolly it’s better to book a hotel next time. In fairness to Awaries it was clear from the beginning: late check-in (4pm) and early check out (11am)

IrelandThe location is great, it's a lovely part of the South East. It's very close to beaches, nature walks and historical places. The studio itself is very cosy and compact, just be aware of the tight stairs to the upper floor. Apart from that, the studio was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. Would definitely recommend for a longer visit.

United KingdomThe bed and bed location was not comfortable. This is the thing that let down the property for us. It's also somewhat expensive for what it is.
The location is excellent for Rosslare Ferry and Wexford. The property was very clean and had all the necessary basic equipment and utensils. The host kindly left a welcome pack. Lovely view and location, and peaceful.

AustraliaThis is a quirky space so if you don’t like a steep stairwell or ladder to your bed it is not for you. They are very clear that there is no hotplate or stove which we knew so we cooked in the microwave. Otherwise it is comfortable and well situated near a restaurant, pub and shop.
We chose St Awaries because we wanted a quiet and beautiful location which was self catering and well priced. This was perfect. Close to a pilgrim site with a lovely walk and amazing bird migrant flocks, it was just the thing for a relaxing break. We were able to go to church daily also. The hosts were amazing; strong communicators and attended to all requests speedily and even dropped us to the Rosslare Europort at checkout

Irelandbasically the bed!!! we are probably too old for a ladder and having to crawl around the space on the bed level. but that is our problem, as we did see the photos , just it was a bit more awkward than expected!! Also was not cleaned when we arrived, I would have expected it have been changed over more than 30 minutes before check in!!
great location and was perfectly suited to where we needed to be during the weekend

United KingdomReally nothing but if I had to be picky, a plug for the bathroom sink would be nice as there is no electric shaving point and so had to wet-shave and would have preferred to fill the sink rather than waste water with a running tap. Maybe a slightly wider staircase (but I managed it anyway so I really am having to stretch to pick holes here). It was superb and we will try to book again next time we are over in Ireland.
The hosts had thought of everything and I mean EVERYTHING. We were expecting basic accommodation - just somewhere we could rest our head for the night) but it actually had everything you could possibly want for an overnight (and longer stay). There was also a lot more room than we expected. I thought that I might personally have problem accessing the mezzanine level for the bed as I am a 6ft 2, 150kg man in his 60s with a bad back but it was actually relatively easy. If I can manage it I can't imagine many people having trouble Also really clear instructions (and nice to have a proper folder rather than just an online link). Easy to recycle our rubbish with clearly marked bins. Lovely touch to have some coffee, teabags and a carton of fresh milk in the fridge for us when arrived. Even a couple of sachets of porridge for breakfast.

Fridge, microwave, good hot water supply, great shower, some nice foodie/drinkie gifts, a cafetière and real coffee ; ) A folder with useful information. Close to Our Lady Island, wildlife/bird sanctuary and Carne Beach and the Rosslare Ferry.
