How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Michaela is the perfect host. Her house is beautifully kept and in a stunning remote part of Mayo with gorgeous views and nearby beaches to explore. The rooms are large and well equipped with comfortable beds and lots of added touches. Her breakfast each morning is served with an extra bit iof attention to detail and a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly reccomend

When used to super king size bed A double feels so small for 2. Google maps takes you a very narrow way for some reason.
Host was exceptional and thought of everything to make stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Advised us to book restaurant and recommendation was brill. Location views excellent

Everything was super
Everything. Michaela is amazing woman who treat you like family member. At the beginning we got little gift which we didn’t expect. She is very helpful and has big knowledge of things what you can go and see or do. Everything what we seen after her recommendation was superb. Very clean and comfortable room with huge bathroom. Breakfasts we couldn’t ask for more. Stayed there for 4 nights and wish to come back again

Michaela is an exceptional host.All our needs were catered for.There was wine and snacks in the room .The bathroom was well stocked even with new tooth brushes and tooth floss.Breakfast next morning was delicious as we sat in the kitchen looking out at the sea .Sea View lives up to its name and is a hidden gem.Its well worth the 25 min trip from Ballina with beaches and cliffs less than a km away with great accommodation where we felt spoiled .Michaela also had a comprehensive local guide book put together and recommendations for restaurants in Killala and Ballina

Everything was wonderful!
Michaela was a fantastic hostess! We arrived very late but this was not an issue and she greeted us with the offer of wine! The room was lovely and the bathroom was huge and had everything you might possibly need! Michaela gave us a great outline of the local attractions which was brilliant for planning our next day. Breakfast was delicious and freshly made and the views were gorgeous! This property is remote and takes a bit of time to get to but is so worth it for the fabulous views and the nearby beach which is just stunning!

The bed was not very comfortable.

Thoughtful, kind and friendly host Michaela. From the cheeky glass of wine on arrival to the phone call while walking her dogs to tell us where to see a pod of dolphins that were playing in the bay.

Michaela is a thoughtful and super friendly host. She showed us around the area, gave information on hiking tours and really made us feel at home. We enjoyed our time chatting with her during the yummy breakfast which left nothing to wish for. Room was comfy, we had our own big bathroom with shower and bubble bath, shower supplies and sweets/drinks in the room. Quiet and lovely B&B, definitely recommend it! The two friendly dogs and cats (only outside the house) are a plus for animal lovers!

We didn’t realise it was quite so remote but that was our fault for not researching it properly. Stayed one night and would have been good to stay longer.
Very friendly host . Lots of useful information about the area and good places to visit. Comfortable clean room as and nice breakfast

In comparison to other one night stays during our one week trip to Ireland the price was a bit high.
The sea view. The owner of the bed and breakfast is very pleasant and was attentive to our needs.

RTÉ Irish tv was not available which was disappointing as President Joe Biden was visiting Ireland and we wanted to watch the tv coverage of his visit especially to County Mayo.
Location, beautiful view, very nice well-kept house, friendly welcoming hostess
