How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The room was a little outdated. Bathroom tiles in bad condition. Marble surround at sink damaged. Tap leaked. Didn't like the style of the hotel more like a motel. Most rooms are on ground floor I would of preferred a first floor room. Noise from traffic very bad. Trucks using the town to bypass the toll.
Walking distance of town. Near bog walk.

The people in room next to us was very loud very hard to get the young ones to sleep.

The soundproofing in the bedrooms was minimal - we could hear every door closing and voices. The traffic noise disturbed my husband’s sleep and it was worse because the rooms were too warm and stuffy. The shower kept cutting out and I don’t like over bath showers due to a dodgy knee.
The staff especially in the dining room were exceptionally warm and friendly. Service was speedy and the food was great. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets crispy clean. There was plenty of parking and it was good value for money.

It was pouring with rain most of the time and it would have been great if the hotel could have supplied some umbrellas
Our room was comfortable with a good sized bed and an adequate en suite bathroom. Service in the bar was quick and the range of available draft beers was exactly what we wanted. Breakfast was good but we didn't eat dinner there so I can't comment on that.

I thought our room looked very dated. The headboard on the bed was badly broken with the centre piece missing. Carpets had nasty looking stains on them It was clean overall as was the bathroom.
Location for our purposes was ideal. The host at breakfast was fabulous. A mature gentleman with glasses who couldn't have been more helpful. Went the extra mile to accommodate us.

There were no toiletries in the room on our arrival, and the water went the morning of our departure, so we couldn't take a shower.
The location was great for our trip. Staff were lovely, The room was a nice size, bed was very comfortable. Sunday carvery was great. We enjoyed our stay, will stay again..

Abrupt member of the cleaning staff who sharply reminded us there were 5 minutes to check-out because she was keen to get into the room at 12 pm to clean. This was after an 11.30 am near-entry to the room by another staff member (or the same person - I am unsure). I fel this detracted from what otherwise were lovely staff who were helpful and pleasant.
Very comfortable room. Good check-in. The staff overall were very pleasnt and helpful. We were very grateful for the late purchase of snacks when we returned.

People staying in the bedroom next door kept banging on the walls all night long. Not much fault of the hotelier but they would definitely benefit from having better insulation.

The bathroom was tired and needs updating but I expect the hotel are slowly working through the rooms as on a previous stay the bathroom was more modern.
