Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThis is a filthy accomodation and very expensive - we paid £105 for a small room with a bunk bed and external bathroom The soap in the bathroom was actually fairy liquid Stains all over the mattresses and bedding People had been sick in the bathroom and this wasn't cleaned up by anyone Very noisy due to being on a busy street Windows are so thin all the light still comes through Not a proper kitchen, only a kettle and toaster just sitting in the hallway Overall, very disappointed
Bed was fairly comfortable

IrelandFirst - We were ringing the bell for about 5 min trying to get in, but got inside cause some guests were coming out. Second - everything is so tiny. No elevator but very steep stairs, 2 big and heavy suitcases I had to carry on my shoulders up to 2d floor🥵. The room did not match the photos. Very dirty, noisy (as if there are no windows, all the noise from the street is heard and it is not possible to sleep). Cold - it's very cold everywhere, in the bathroom, toilet, corridors, taking a shower, despite the fact that there is hot water (thank God) you try not to get sick from the cold around, as it blows from the windows. The room is more or less warm as there is an ancient heater)

United Kingdombeds were lumpy and very small. I’m 164cm and found them short. right next to a 24hr spar and windows very thin so was extremely noisy. don’t stay here if you value your sleep.

IrelandCouldn't get into the property, when finally I went next door to pizza place, they run the place. The desk was used by a courier who was taking a nap and his bike. They couldn't find my booking. Doors were held open by fire extinguishers. Matras thin and spring. No plug in the room so never mind wifi, I could not charge my stuff.
Paid nearly 75 euro for a bunk bed, feel some make the most out of the crisis in beds

Germany- it was so loud at saturday night, i couldn´t sleep. There are a lot of party people in front of the hostel and in my room (Room 11) a window was damaged, you can´t close it, so it was very noisy till 4 am in the morning... At the night from sunday to monday it was quieter. - there are just two sockets in the room for 6 people - it was a little bit dirty in the bath/toilet rooms but it was ok, not to dirty and this is not a luxury hotel. - I was scared because of the Certainty and some commentarys here. But: for me, it was safe. There were 3 men and 1 woman in the first night in my room and just 1 man in the second night with me but everything was fine. And I left my baggage there and no one take it. - But a few teenagers (maybe 14 or 15) want to sold me drugs at the Entrance door. But this is not the fault of the hostel. But be a little bit careful when you are coming back alone in the evening/night to the hostel.
- in the heart of Dublin - at Temple Bar - very friendly and helpful staff - they cleaned the rooms every day - you can give your luggage the staff and they keep it safe in a room at the reception - you can borrow towels (for 2€) - there are a microwave, a fridge and a water boiler at the floors - no one stealed something from me, it was safe.

SwitzerlandI've arrived very late and was still able to have the key to my room. It's in the city center, so very convenient. You have air coach 5 minutes walk from the hostel and everything in a working distance. It's little bit noisy on the weekend but normal for this central location.
