Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandAll went well, just take the train instead of bus, it only goes a few times a day, but it's more scenic and nicer. (I mean for longer trips like Dublin or Bray etc)
We have gotten a lovely spacious room for 205 euros in April 2025. But some rooms are VERY compact 🤗 Breakfast was exceptional. Staff is warm and friendly. Location - heart of town. It's actually a historic property dating 17 hundreds I have the pic I've taken in the Wicklow goal about it.

United KingdomRoom 35, warm and too noisy due overlooking street. Breakfast overall looked good. Unfortunately I decided to go for Bridge Tavern Irish breakfast. Then description sounded what you would expect of an Irish fry up. However sausages were poor quality and looked as if cooked in a deep fat fryer and bacon dry. It was a little disappointing. I’d normally go for avocado & eggs and that looked good.

United StatesThere were a couple of small items that were broken (e.g., toilet seat) that needed to be fixed.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were very good. Wicklow was a great place to see the 'real' Ireland. Parking was available on street for a fee. Many good restaurants and pubs within a short walk. Excellent access to Wicklow Mountains and other nice outdoors locations. Hotel itself has basic rooms but that was fine, because hopefully you are not spending your time there but outside the hotel, experiencing Ireland. Rooms were clean.

United KingdomFood breakfast and staff excellent. Room ok. Blind broken, toilet seat and towel ring loose. Shower not great, not great power, and there was no way it could be raised. I had to wedge a small towel at the back of it. Location and food brilliant. Bit expensive..almost hotel rate charged.

IrelandNo parking - managed to get a very convenient nearby spot on the street but this might be a challenge if the town was busier (it was a Sunday when we arrived), Small points - the TV in the room probably needs to be a bit bigger for the size of the room and the quantity of towels provided was at a minimum.
Good location, right in the middle of the town. Room was spacious (paid for the de luxe option) and spotlessly clean, seems to have had a recent makeover / upgrade. Breakfast was in the restaurant and cooked to order - makes a nice change from usual buffet fare.

AustraliaI would like to have known there was so many stairs leading to the bedrooms as my 85 year old mother did have some difficulty accessing the rooms. The facility is not inclusive to all, anyone with mobility challenges would have difficulty and there is no lift making it non accessible for wheelchair users.
The location was excellent right in the centre of town, staff were friendly and helpful. In particular the restaurant staff were most helpful to ensure my vegan diet was supported, the staff spoke to the chef and was able to have something made for me that was both delicious and well presented.

United KingdomThere is no parking, but it is easy to park on the local side roads, pay, and display . It is expensive to stay at weekends, Breakfast on day 2 was poor and had obviously been kept warm too long. A hacksaw was needed for the Bacon. The poached egg was hard boiled.
Central location , friendly staff, easy check-in, and late access if needed. Food served all day, breakfast until quite late in the morning. Live music most nights. Nice laid back atmosphere.
