Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was on the small side, the coffee at breakfast wasn't the best and could have done with being hotter.
Very stylish hotel, nice and cosy room with cool features (like a guitar), comfortable bed, really good shower, nice restaurant on the top floor with great views, serving an excellent brunch.

IrelandThe room was a little small and I could hear TVs from others rooms and noise from the street. I stayed a Sunday night so it quieted down after 11pm or so. I was thinking of getting room service but honestly the food from the restaurant was super expensive so I ended up heading out for dinner instead.
The room was quite small but lovely and decked out with lots of high quality extras such as a dyson hairdryer, slippers, hot water bottle and snacks and full mini bar. If you wanted these beverages or snacks they cost extra but it was nice to have the opion. Bed was comfy and shower was lovely.

IrelandBedroom unusual with the bunk at the end of the bed but for one night stay it was great. Shower was fantastic
We just really enjoyed the Devlin experience, parking was a little bit away but was very safe. Staff were lovely and the breakfast was outstanding. We will definitely stay there again. And for added pleasure we dined at Mama Yo!! Delicious

United KingdomThe room, although described as small, was much smaller than anticipated. The bed was comfy and big enough but there was no prior indication that it was up against the window/wall which meant that the person near the wall had to try and climb over the other to get in and out. For people our age in our 70's this isn't easy. The room was VERY expensive for what it is.
Everything but the bed and size of room

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed with gorgeous hotel decor. Located in a lovely village - we found Ranelagh to be nicer than Dublin City centre with plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. Great location for transport - walking distance to both Ranelagh and Beechwood Luas stops. Lovely food and even nicer drinks/cocktails. Rooftop bar with views of the area.

IrelandThe rooms are VERY small. I know they say they are small and for what we needed for one night it was fine. Bearing in mind we paid just under €400 for that one night I don’t think we’d justify staying again purely for leisure purposes which is unfortunate. Laylas the rooftop bar is advertised a lot and they also mention cocktails etc. When we arrived we asked to see their cocktail menu in the americanas bar (14:30 in the afternoon) and we were they don’t do them during the day. It was a beautiful sunny evening and we were staying for a concert so we then headed to the rooftop just before leaving but as it happens that is only for food and not for just drinks . The website is a bit misleading on this.
Breakfast was lovely. Though slightly overpriced. We paid an additional €40 to get breakfast when checking in. Slightly expensive even by todays inflation standards. Then when we arrived for breakfast and seen the prices we actually only would have spent €37.50 had we not bothered adding on as guests, therefore there isn’t much incentive to bother. We were also slightly confused as we weren’t sure should we stay within the €40 or could we get whatever we want (as is the case with other hotels) BUT what we did have was lovely and the staff were amazing and VERY friendly.

United KingdomNo wardrobe, which is fine for a single traveler but could be an issue for 2 people. My room was from the street side which was very loud. far from the centre.
Super clean, the location was good for what I needed it for but a bit far away from the city centre. Very clean room, great facilities.

United KingdomAs expected, Dublin is not a cheap weekend - despite this I would say that the Devlin is good value, and if you're going you may as well do it properly i'd say.
Everything about the hotel is done to a very high standard, the room, restaurant, staff and rooftop bar are all really well done. Having not been to Dublin before, the location is also excellent because there is plenty to do nearby if you don't want the chaos of Temple Bar.
