How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The only complaint we had was about the heating…our room was very cold and we couldn’t work out the air conditioning/ heating unit. Plus, the water in the shower was luke warm. However, we spoke to the front desk staff and while we were out they sent maintenance staff to sort it out and the room was warm enough when we got back. But next morning the room was cold again after we had turned off the heating during the night….as we were checking out we reported it anyway but don’t know what the results were!
The staff at the hotel were amazing, very helpful, friendly and went out of their way to help…especially the reception desk and the guys in charge of the left luggage! Great breakfast with a big choice and again, friendly staff. Nice bar in the evening. Also we ate dinner and lunch at Toddy’s bar and both meals were delicious.

We had a great stay at the hotel and found nothing negative to say about our stay.
Very friendly and helpful staff from the very first minute we arrived. The condition and decor of the rooms were very pleasing plus very comfortable and warm. We had a couple of meals in the hotel which where first class and our waitress was extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast in the hotel was very good with a good selection of food.

One thing- the lift stuck once when we were there. Was brief and resolved itself but not a fan of that happening Wouldn't prevent me from booking again though. The positives outweighed the one negative!
Location was brilliant, room was lovely and clean. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

breakfast, room, location all excellent but the staff must get a special mention for their friendliness, courtesy, helpfulness and efficiency. We were especially charmed by the young man James who booked us in - completely through the medium of Irish. A great asset to the front desk ( I'm sure the others were equally charming) We look forward to our next visit.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like!
The hotel itself is beautiful having been refurbished and the Christmas decor is beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful especially at the front desk. There was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast selection was excellent, we had a beautiful evening meal in the hotel on our first night. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable. Excellent discount at a car park close by.

Breakfast was nicely cooked and plenty to eat but it was verging on cold. Maybe warm plates would help.
Upgraded room was very good. Spacious and clean and quiet.

Personally, we prefer carpet flooring in hall and in rooms but understand the flooring you have in hallways and rooms will be easier and quicker for staff to clean.
Staff couldn’t do enough for you, checking/out was so easy and breakfast was excellent. The bed was very comfy and room war. Location of hotel was excellent for us.

The breakfast was beautiful. All piping hot and really tasty. The bacon was lovely. Not salty at all. we enjoyed it immensely.
