How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The staff were extremely friendly! The hotel was so spacious clean and comfortable! It was great the room had an iron in the wardrobe, instant coffee machine and kettle!

A longer walk to the city centre than we realised

Shower pressure wasnt great and wouldve loved a bath. All window treatments automatically close together - be nice to be able to do them seperately.
Room was huge and very quiet. Lots of parking and a short walk to town.

We booked because of the location with parking and easy walk downtown. But it’s the food that blew us away - the Gastro Pub is fabulous! We sampled the creative menu 3 nights - so good! And the room was very comfortable with lots of buttons to push - cool! Check it out.

Only ambient lighting in room which is nice but would be nice to have a bright entire room light too for packing up/tidying/getting ready
Dinner was really nice, staff nice just first day wasn't someone at reception but when I got someone from the bar/restaurant they were very helpful

It was cold in the room when we arrived (mid December, the windows were opened). Afterwards it was getting warmer, but remained a bit cold in the bathroom. The pillows ... so so, but not awful, rather unusual.
The Huntsman Inn was a good value for money and in general it met our expectations. We were travelling with a car from Dublin and the parking place at no additional money was available. The restaurant was excellent as well, highly recommend. The room was big enough and fully ok in general. The check in was a bit earlier, upon arrival, and it was smooth.

Well where does one start, I personally think first of all with the receptionist Lina ,what a wonderful person such a tremendous help throughout our stay a very lovely and very understanding person lina was such a massive help to myself and my wife bernadette we stayed at quite a lot of hotels around Ireland and the huntsman Inn has got to be the greatest one ever on our travels, Rooms where impeccably spotless clean, hot showers 24/7 fresh clean towels every morning, peaceful and warm surroundings ,breakfast was just perfect as requested, bus stop outside the hotel ,bus every 10 minutes into town wonderful, We enjoyed it so much we are have enquired about staying again next year in December 2024 that in itself says quite a lot, anyway we would highly recommend the huntsman to the world a big magnificent thank you again to lina,xx Anthony and bernadette

Modern hotel well decorated and very clean. Good spacious rooms with all amenities. Amazing location so close to the city. The bar and restaurant is so warm and inviting and the food is excellent.
