How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff all friendly,food was good at breakfast and evening meal,location ideal for touring the area,just out of westport,lovely walks around the town,amazing watching the birds buildings their nests outside the bedroom window, No tea making facilities or hair dryer in the room,on checkout we were told we only had to ask,not an big issue won't stop us coming back

Location was fabulous & loads to see in the area. Booked at the last minute. Staff & food were amazing & will definitely be back for a longer stay.

Now it's not that I call these a negative but the rooms could do with a tidy up .. Curtain poles were unsecured and fell down when pulling over the curtains. Heavy blackout curtains were provided as room was facing the main street .but whoever measured the curtains can't really read a tape measure as they were at least 4 inches short of covering the window so light could easily invade the room .. pillow cases were torn and there was no house keeping per day was some indication of mould in the bathroom .. These can all be easily fixed .. As they were what I would call minor issues to rectify Would they stop me from returning . Hell no I'll be back again !!!
Ideally located in a nice area Very friendly and helpful staff. Menu limited but don't let that you off ..Food is very tasty and filling. Great value for money. Good hearthy breakfast and refills of coffee /Tea always offered Local knowledge of areas to visit are given .You cannot put a price on that . And after a hards days sightseeing around . You can be guaranteed a good meal and some nice pints . Locals are friendly so it's easy to engage in a chat and conversation with them . You can talk for hours and enjoy pints and the banter ++++ Bathroom had a shower only brilliant a cracking big one at that no trying to squeeze into a tiny box room to get one or climb over a bath

The hotel was ideally situated in a little town, where we could find anything we needed. The guests were discreet but nice. The rooms were nice and very clean. we could rest well as it was peaceful. The bathrooms were a little bit basic.

Facilities in Newport somewhat limited. The bathroom needed redecorating. The curtains in the bedroom didn't close properly (disconcerting as the bedroom was at the front of the building) and looked like they had been made from an old bed cover.
Good location for visiting Achill and Westport. Good value bar food. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Stayed in room 3 with my boys. Beautiful room, very clean and with a superb view over the river. Two doubles beds and a single, all were so comfortable!! The staff went out of their way to accommodate, (storing our bikes, bringing a kettle etc to the room for us and when asked about staying another night, although fully booked, owner offered us an exceptionally beautiful room in a house closeby.

Breakfast- we could get only one dish from the menu. No fruits or vegatables. Too much oil.
The room was clean and nice. The lady who gave us the room was very friendly and helpfull.
