Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaA lack of space, especially in bathroom. Dangerous corner of staircase in the kitchen. Two men have knocked their heads.
Comfortable check-in and check-out. Pleasant terrace. No noise from the street. Location near Old Jaffa. Good conditioner.

CanadaThere was one code for the front door, a 2nd code for the Hostel's floor & a 3rd code to get your room key. That's alot of codes to write down or remember! The rooftop commons was accessible the day I was there but it was cold & stormy so not useful.
I wanted a cheap place in Jaffa, walking distance to Ajami quarter & Jaffa Flea Market. This property was close to both and offered your own private sleeping area & bath plus commons area for cooking & socializing (if that's your thing).

AustraliaThe lock on our room was loose. The screws need to be put in again so that it’s made to not wobble around.
Loved it’s location but a bit hard to remember all the codes for getting in. The little pool on the roof was cute but more like a kiddie pool than a real pool.

IsraelIt should be part of the house rules for guests to keep it quiet after 10:00pm. The property isn’t soundproof and rooms are close to each other. A guest came home at midnight and was making a racket in the kitchen. I could hear everything even if my room was the farthest from the common kitchen.
One of the few places that’s decent and affordable in a very expensive city. ✅Good location. ✅Value for money. ✅Clean. ✅Comfortable bed. ✅Fresh towels. ✅Basic toiletries. ✅Good sized bathroom & shower.

RussiaLocation is great! Visiting TLV you would not miss Old Jaffa and leaving in this area is great! The hotel itself is very nice, cozy, clean, there are a lot of additional places except the room to spend time. On top I'd like to mention the host - great, always ready to help, replies fast, very intelligent and friendly. Thank you very much, I've enjoyed staying at this place in June 2022.

RussiaAs it happens in Israel, the room size was quite small, but the worst part is the bathroom. It barely fits one person, and you cannot comfortably undress in the bathroom because it's so small. Also, if you take a longer shower, the water leaks out of the shower... directly under your bed.
The location is excellent, and the host communication was great. Self check-in/out was very smooth. The hostel is quite cozy and clean too. The roof space is very nice, even though was too cold to enjoy it properly. Speaking of 'cold', there were no issues with hot water, and we could comfortably warm the room up with the a/c.

FranceI had room nr 4, the light clipped onto the bedframe closest to the door should have a longer cable so you can keep it plugged in without falling over the cable
The hostel (it is not a hotel) is a transformed 5-room appartment on the 4th floor, spread over two floors, each room having its own small shower and toilet. There is a balcony on the entrance floor, with the shared kitchen and common eating or working room, a large terrasse one floor up, and on the top of it on yet another level a small look-out point with a few chairs and the micro-pool. The view is great. Location in the center of Jaffa is perfect, with a bunch of nice pubs and restaurants around. But still, it is quiet - a family neighborhood. I had rented a car and having a parking in the courtyard was VERY convenient. As there is 1 parking for the 5 rooms, I was lucky that nobody else had a car - on the other hand the other guests were all much younger than me, so there might be a reason ;-)

GermanyThe weakest internet connection I ever got an a hotel. In the lobby it was working more or less well, in the room - not at all.
The room was small but quite convenient. We were lucky and got a room with a huge terrasse (the only room of this kind in the whole hotel, I guess), that was very nice, I recommend to ask for it. A free coffee machine in the lobby is a good thing, although the coffee is not the best by far. Great breakfast, indeed (however, exactly the same breakfast every day).

CanadaUnable to access the room at all. I sent an URGENT message to the host on WhatApp and did not receive a response for SEVEN hours. Cotraveller was atranded and had to book elsewhere. Human errors on BOTH sides but WhatsApp host unavailable for seven hours VERY annoying . Request for a partial travel credit not responded to. This place came highly recommended but lack of customer service is an experience I won't repeat
I am VERY pleased that I was fully refunded the cost of the reservation! MANY thanks. I do hope that self- check in can be tuned to not strand other travellers. Thank you again!!
