There was a lot of noise from the metal workshop next door, and also during our stay there were building works on the house the other side, which prevented us from enjoying the balcony in peace..

Kamal and Manjou are lovely warm and kind hosts who will take care of all your needs.. Our room was clean and comfortable and we especially enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching the world go by.

Everything about Aashray is worth mentioning. The accommodation is very comfortable, very clean with all amenities provided. The best part is the mouth watering breakfast made by Mrs Kapoor. Mr Kapoor is a treasure of information about Varanasi and both of them made us feel at home.

It's never about better. As an American I thoroughly confess that we are spoiled and take things for granted. Varanasi brings you back into the reality of a world where the have nots are hanging on........an emotionally moving experience that will never be forgotten.

No visit to India is complete without a homestay in an Indian home. Kamal and his wife, Manjou, were the consummate hosts. Manjou's breakfasts are veg and NOT to be missed. Their home is comfortable with all of the necessary amenities. Driving in India is not for the faint of heart and their driver, Babloo, was superb in navigating the streets which are crowded in Varanasi with buses, autos, motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles.....not to mention pedestrians. Not unlike a Mario Kart game.

Really, nothing.

Wonderful location, away from the noise of the city, but close enough to access sites. Home is hidden away 1/2 a block from the main street with a small parklike square in front of the property. The owner/hosts are great people. Take care of your every need. Breakfast was great with many choices, and authentic Indian options as well. Felt very safe and comfortable. The property as an old world charm, sort of like grandma's house. I would definitely stay there again.

Mr & Mrs Kapur are some of the kindest hosts I've met, they are very welcoming, helpful and lovely to talk to. Breakfast everyday was amazing! Mrs. Kapur lovingly prepared the most delicious and nutritious food. They also provided snacks and fruits in the room which was very thoughtful. I really appreciated that the room was cleaned on a daily basis. It was such a pleasure to stay at Aashray.

We greatly appreciated the hospitality and kindness of Mr. & Mrs. Kapur. They took much care to cook a delicious and filling breakfast each morning and spoke with us about the history and culture of Banaras. Staying with the family really made the trip feel special. The stay is outside of the ghats, but we purposely chose to stay in a quieter area. Uber worked great getting around and they arranged an airport transfer for us at a fair rate.

Everything was really fine !!!

À lovely and very confortable room, in a quiet place. Mr And Mrs Kapur are exceptional hosts, they gave us precious advice to discover Varanasi. the breakfasts prepared by Mrs. Kapur are delicious and served in a warm family atmosphere. Really friendly couple run this beautiful guest house that is just off the main street for heading into the centre of Varanasi and to the ghats. Arranged airport pick up and drop off for us and even packaged up a delicious breakfast for us on our final day as we had an early flight. Room was spacious and had everything you could need for a couple nights!

Nothing . Suggested two water bottles instead of one for drinking in the room and an exhaust in washroom. Should have more sockets for charging phones.

The room was cosy. Fresh clean linen. Bathroom also very clean. All items provided like toothpaste soap, towel etc. Breakfast is inclusive and homemade very fresh containing fruits, porridge, sprouts, idlis and tea. Hosts Mr.& Mrs.Kapur are very cordial couple. Mr. Kapur have lot of knowledge of Varanasi and can explain you in detail of what all to see and where all to eat. Mrs. Kapur can arrange for local weaver to come and show and sell the famous sarees from Varanasi 🙂

Location was far from the main sites and required taking a 20 min auto+15 min walk. I would prefer to stay on the ghats if you have a short trip. The shower pressure was very weak. Bed was a little on the harder side.

Hosts. They were considerate and accommodating. Our room was quite private, with its own access. Breakfast was delicious. Room was spacious and we also got a balcony which was nice for this winter visit. The place was very safe.
