Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

OmanMinor details like amissing towel, but other then that all fantastic
Beautifully styled and great welcoming vibe at Casa Jaali. The restaurant is really a gem. The food and in particular the excellent spicy Margaritas. Staff is attentive and very well trained. We loved the eye for detail and loved our private cabin all the way in the back with the large bathroom and terrace.

IndiaThe only downside during our stay was continuous voltage disturbances, which significantly affected the air conditioning. This issue occurred at various times of the day and night, making it difficult to get consistent cooling. While the staff did attempt to fix it, their response was almost consistent—most of the times prompt, but at other times, they were slow to act. This became frustrating, especially considering that while some guests might not mind a break from air conditioning, India based travelers like me often struggle with humidity and heat. Having an unreliable cooling system made the stay uncomfortable at times though I understand this may be out of their control in relation to the power grids etc.
Casa Jaali an excellent place to stay, offering a prime location with stunning views and easy accessibility to key attractions. The crowd is great, with a lively mix of international and Indian tourists, making for an enjoyable atmosphere. One of the most impressive aspects is how well-maintained the property is. The lush greenery adds to its charm, and everything—from the gardens to the rooms—is kept immaculate. It’s clear that a lot of effort goes into ensuring the resort looks and feels top-notch. The food was FRESH! The cocktails were a win and the breakfast while simple, was quite balanced to start your day. The staff members operate at a 5 star level. They are well-trained, courteous, and professional, providing a high standard of service that caters to their diverse guest base. My friend and I were given a sweet note card on our departure.

United KingdomPerhaps vary the complimentary breakfast a little. For those who are staying for a week it did become a bit samey, so we opted for other paid items.
Excellent location, at the quieter end of Patnem beach. Although it is all fairly quiet! We had a large room with seating area outside which was great. Yes, its more expensive, but just what we wanted to be able to relax outside the room. The restaurant food was all very good. We ate there on a couple of evenings and the ambiance and food great. A long list of cocktails made it even better. Everything was just lovely

There’s a bit of magic about this place! The staff, the rooms, the food, the VIEW, it’s all so wonderful that it’s hard to say what’s best. I travelled with my 3 year old & couldn’t be more grateful for how kind the staff were to her / us. Its a perfect short walk to the beach - so easy & means it’s quieter than being directly on the beach. The room was extremely comfortable, the breakfast delicious. I would rebook in a second - and will. Thank you!

AustraliaThere are better rooms than others - the rooms that are set back as far as possible, but with sea view are best - cooler and private. We booked very late so had little options. We upgraded to the larger Cottage (no sea view) but would have preferred to have the sea view room.
This boutique hotel is located in a superb location, serene & secluded but also close to everything you need. The views from the restaurant are addictive and we enjoyed being there for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The complementary breakfast was excellent.

The location was amazing. One end of the bay over looking the sea. It was quiet but near enough to walk to where all the bars and restaurants are. Breakfast was excellent with an option for it to be delivered to your room. It was lovely to sit and have it outside on our terrace with the waves moving in an out over the rocks.

United KingdomThe walls of the rooms are very thin and you can hear lots of sounds coming from all directions. The bathrooms are very tired and need updating. The food in the restaurant is excellent but pricey. The music in the restaurant is a little bit too loud at times, sometimes it felt it was being played for the benefit of the staff not paying guests.
The location of the place is great. It’s tucked away at the end of Patnem Beach. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the staff are once they get used to you. The place has a very nice vibe to it. Overall a very nice stay.

We could not fault Casa Jaali in any way, the location was perfect overlooking the ocean on Patnem Beach, the gardens were exceptional and very well maintained, perfect for just relaxing. The staff at Casa were equally exceptional and nothing was too much trouble, they were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The complimentary breakfast that was included in our stay was very good, the lunch and dinner menu is extensive so we enjoyed trying out different dishes. They have wonderful lighted seating areas that literally overlook the sea where you can take your meals or a drink at any time if you don't wish to sit in the restaurant area, they are like your own personal small verandas. Manager Cleto and his staff are what made our stay at Casa Jaali a perfect one, there was nothing we did not love about this wonderful place in Goa so thank you Casa for your excellent hospitality.
