Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

You'll get all amenities in this homestay. The owner of this beautiful home helped us to get auto rikshaw with minimum rates to travel around the pink city. Even the breakfast provided was delicious. One of best home stays we have stayed in. Amazing home and guest accommodations wonderfully decorated with arts from all over the world showcasing the rich family history. The family and staff warmly welcomed us into their home and made sure our our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. the family area and open terrace offer a great way to relax with a cold drink after a long day taking in the sights and sounds of Jaipur. They also offer convenient taxi options to explore the city or shuttle to the airport.

United Arab EmiratesNothing per say, just that you need to climb a flight of stairs. And no one offered to carry our bags :( But I loved the stay nonetheless
Its a beautiful house in a nice, upper-end neighborhood. Accessing the local markets and attractions was easy by Uber etc. The room is very spacious and has a nice bathroom and large cupboards. the bed was very comfortable. I was also able to access the balcony on a day it was drizzling which made my trip even more special.

IndiaA well furnished, well located home with the host available on the property. The rooms were big, comfortable, private, nicely decorated, very clean with a small dressing room and a good sized bathroom. Meals were served in a spacious family lounge cum dining space. The staff were always available and invariably courteous. The host was very pleasant and non-intrusive and happily helped out with local knowledge. The food was amazing, with lots of local cuisine. Fresh cut fruit, spiced buttermilk, tea and coffee were available on request through the day.

IndiaA beautiful abode located in a calm and quiet residential area of Jaipur. Went there only relying on the reviews and ratings online and boy did it deliver. It was everything we imagined and more. The property was built in 1940 and has been so well kept, the decor and artefacts were adding a Royal look to the house. We were received by the super friendly and humble staff, welcomed by our gracious host Mrs. Singh. The entire process from check in to check out was smooth. Mrs. Singh also helped us plan our itinerary, suggested the best places to shop and eat from. The food that was served in the homestay was made to our preference and tasted just like home made food. All in all our experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

IndiaOne of the staff person tried to open our door late in the night which startled us. when checked she responded that she was checking wether we were back or not... it was not even a knock on the door but an attempt at the latch!! It appeared to be an innocent act, but it was rather an odd thing to do...Apart from this stray incident all was very nice.

GermanyUnfortunately, there were a lot of things which significantly degraded our experience at Dera. It started with us being allotted a room which looked very different from the pictures online. We booked a King Room with an extra large double bed according to the listing, but were given a Super Deluxe room with twin beds. When we raised this issue, they joined the two beds together and said that it was standard practice. Not only wasn't this bed extra large, the two mattresses kept moving apart and my partner and I were not able to sleep comfortably together. The larger problem is that Dera is not distinguishing between all the available rooms on booking.com well enough, and is instead bundling them up into a single category, and justifies unmatched expectations with the fact that the rooms belong to the same category. It should be noted that they offered to move us to a room with an extra large double bed, but one which was on the ground floor and next to the kitchen. And we did not want to be disturbed with the noise of the kitchen and guests coming in, and chose to stay in the allotted room. We also faced poor service from the management of the homestay. After facing the room allotment issue on the night of our arrival, all we received from the management was justification and not a single apology. They offered a small monetary compensation, but one which was rescinded after we declined the room they showed us on the ground floor. The manager of the hotel also caused a lot of miscommunication over the three days. Firstly, he offered to provide information via text about specific shopping opportunities which we inquired about, only to tell us that his "guy was unreachable" many hours after we had expected his text. Secondly, he specified that the homestay could prepare the mutton in a spicy and non-spicy way, and on requesting him for the non-spicy mutton, we still got the spicy mutton which my partner could eat.
The homestay is beautiful and clean. The non-management staff of the homestay are incredibly polite and helpful.

United KingdomSadly the stay was not great. They were busy renovating and it was a building site. Apparently the owner said that they did inform booking.com not to take further bookings? This was not clear as I still received a message from the home stay’s manager to pay in advance to secure a good room? I just think they should have informed us they are busy with building and renovations so we could have arranged something else. Our room was supposed to have a garden view, but this was not the case. We had dinner there which was lovely. We could not use the rooftop as mentioned in the reviews. I am sure it will look great when finished but it is just fair to not take bookings till renovations are finished.
The home stay was nice to break away from hotels.

South KoreaCurrently they only accept cash payments which was really inconvenient for me because it was my last day in India. There where no signs or details listed anywhere that said cash payments only and that’s something that all guests should be aware of. When I paid, they did not have exact change for me so I didn’t receive all of my change. The host didn’t offer to round up so that I wouldn’t be short any money. They overcharge on services such as food, taxis, and bottled water yet couldn’t spare a few rupees. For the inconvenience, they could’ve at least given me a discount on the taxi to the airport or offered me a bottle of water for the road. If you book a taxi to the airport through them then it’s more than double the cost of an Uber. Overall hospitality needs some work and prices need to be more reasonable. Also, it seems like the water is heavily chlorinated or something because it irritated my eyes when showering. Compared to the other homestays I stayed in India, this place was lacking.
It’s a beautiful property, clean, and I slept well.
