Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

IndiaWe were staying for a few days in Jaisalmer at Red Velvet and staff suggested we go out for a night of glamping in the desert. As this is their desert camp all the arrangements were made for us. Transport was in a great vehicle and part of the price. Red Velvet is a family run business and we were taken to the camp by Nazir. We arrived early afternoon- we sat out side in a purpose built shaded area drinking chai and enjoying the peace after the bustle of a morning exploring the amazing fort in town. We had a bit of nap time in our well appointed glamper- spacious room with separate bathroom. All modern fixtures. Late afternoon we went on a camel ride to watch the sun setting in the desert. I wasn't keen but was pleasantly surprised- it wasn't as uncomfortable as I was expecting and certainly worthwhile doing. The sunset was spectacular! Afterwards we cameled back to camp where we had a coupe of hours of fireside entertainment-local singers and dancer. We were served drinks and copious snacks (really a lot so I didn't feel like dinner) Dinner was a buffet and offered the standard array of local dishes. A night under the stars- that was so lovely as we were there for full moon. Next morning it was breakfast (buffet and a reasonable choice) and then we were driven back to the hotel

Germany1000% HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Superb experience for a lifetime to cherish!!! I booked red velvet with my 3 other friends for 29nth March night. We arrived early in the morning around 4:00 AM in Jaisalmer and requested Mr.Nazir earlier about our stay. They let us stay on the rooftop hotel area where we completed our remaining sleep to get charged up for the tour. Mr.Surya welcomed us warmly. We tried Aloo Paratha for breakfast it was good. Later when our journey started Mr Nazir guided us. We left the hotel via Jeep to the tour location. Visited a lake and Khaba fort , Kuldhara Abounded Village in between before arriving at Camel safari spot. I started a camel safari which I was very excited for which lasted for around 1 Hours Towards Sunset. However, experience was really unforgettable With Kayam . When we arrived at the spot, we took a walk in dessert, later they provided us some tea and snacks. was really amazing, Rajsthani folk music was started playing around evening culture Rajasthani show . We slept under the open sky stargazing, it was a very beautiful moment. We were provided 4 very good blankets which kept me warm. In the morning of 30 December, they again provided us with a good healthy breakfast (Boiled eggs, Papaya, Bread n jam, Biscuits and chai). Apart from these 2 things everything was really amazing. Also noticed that foreigners are really given more preference and taken care really well. (e.g. Camel safari, proper seating inside Jeep, etc.) To conclude this, this was a lifetime experience to cherish. I would really like to thank Nazir , Kayam and other guys. The whole experience was fantastic. Highly recommend!!! I would definitely try this second time!!!

IndiaI recently stayed at Red Velvet for my first trip in jaisalmer , and it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The package they offered was perfect for my partner like me, with a great mix of activities that kept every day exciting. I had the chance to experience camel safaris, desert safaris, and an unforgettable night camp under the stars, which made my trip even more special. The sunrise and sunset views from the desert were truly breathtaking and something I will remember forever. I even tried parasailing, which was an exhilarating experience! The service provided by the hostel was exceptional, and they took care of every detail.. I highly recommend Red Velvet to anyone looking for a great adventure with top-notch service!

IndiaWe chose this company to do our safari at red velvet desert camp . We were five people. We started with a beautiful trip on the Jeap with the kind kayam and nazir who took care of all our needs and was very kind in explaining everything we asked. The experience was so fantastic that after having booked for only one night we decided to extend our safari for another night. This is because the desert is fantastic but Nazir (the young boy from the desert who was our guide) made our experience unforgettable. He has an incredible experience and made us feel safe and served as if we were in a five star hotel in the middle of the desert. He cooked for us in a great way and knew how to make us have so much fun that going back was very difficult. Next year we will return again with this company that is very organized and with the young Nazir who is the only person we now trust for desert adventures. Highly Recommended!!

IndiaOur time at Red Velvet was truly memorable and filled with delightful surprises. The package curated by the owner exceeded expectations. The exciting desert jeep safari and the peaceful camel ride were experiences to cherish forever. After the safari, we received a warm and traditional welcome with dhol beats and a teeka ceremony, which made the evening even more special. The cultural performances were captivating, accompanied by delicious snacks and cozy blankets for added comfort. The dinner was the highlight of our stay, featuring a wide array of mouthwatering dishes prepared with exceptional quality. It was the perfect mix of adventure, cultural immersion, and outstanding hospitality

IndiaRed Velvet was honestly awesome. We only stayed for a day, but being in the campsite felt like being simultaneously immersed in the desert and staying in a hotel. We had access to good bathroom facilities (incl. hot water), very comfy beds, AC and heating, and awesome service from the staff. They served us simple sandwiches when we arrived that tasted way better than they should have, and that evening we had a Rajasthani Thali that was amazing. They gave us a performance of tribal culture that was super engaging, and filled with snacks (including a peanut veggie mix that I can't stop thinking about)! That far out, we were able to actually stargaze at night, and the night sky was absolutely beautiful. One of the best travel experiences I have had, even though it only lasted 1 today. My entire family genuinely hopes to return.

IndiaI had an amazing experience staying at Red velvet Desert Camp. The owner, ayub, is really kind and easygoing, and chatting with him was truly enjoyable. The tent-style rooms were both cute and cozy, and they were so clean and comfortable. The entire camp is beautifully decorated with cultural elements from Jaisalmer, adding a wonderful local touch. The handmade snacks and curry dinner were absolutely delicious—some of the best I’ve had! In the evening, the live traditional dance and music performances were mesmerizing and added so much to the atmosphere. The staff were very dedicated and attentive, ensuring a great experience throughout my stay. One of the highlights of my trip was the camel ride. It was my first time, and it was truly a fantastic memory. Stargazing at night was also magical—seeing the sky filled with countless stars was unforgettable. The wildlife around the camp was delightful. Spotting peacocks, camels, and the adorable dogs added a unique charm to the stay. I highly recommend Red velvet Desert Camp to anyone visiting Jaisalmer. United KingdomEverything was perfect
We were a family of 3 person and booked 1 tents for one night. Had an excellent and a memorable experience. The camp is located about a KM off from the main rush at Sam. The secluded location gives you the peace and quiet that we were eagerly looking forward for. Given that we went there immediately after new year , there was a huge tourist rush in this sector. The tranquility at Jaisalmer Desert camp sam sand dunes was immensely welcome :-) Food is good. Mostly traditional local cuisine. They will take you for the Sunrise/Sunset trip to an almost private dune. So the experience was awesome all quiet and relaxing. We took the camel ride for one of the trips and walked for the other one. Pretty close to the camp and a nice walk. - Staff is very good and helpful. I arrived a couple of hours behind the original plan. They sent a car to help me navigate the final stretch. All in all: great experience and definitely highly recommended
