Nothing major but small suggestions In the female dorm, my bed was creaking maybe it will disturb other guests. Mosquitos enter room from bathroom so something to be done about that

They have the best terrace with lake views, amazing interrupted stargazing. Krishna and Ankush go beyond their ways to help guests, very thankful for that. The stay was very welcoming and chilled out. There are cats and dogs too for you to play with!!

I've discovered a true haven! The attention to cleanliness is impressive, with staff and management alike dedicated to maintaining impeccable hygiene standards. They truly deliver on their promise, and I've never seen a cleaner establishment, even at twice the price. The breathtaking sunset views are an added bonus. The kitchen's spotlessness and commitment to serving only fresh, non-frozen food further elevate the experience.

The dorm room did feel slightly damp, but this is due to the weather - although it could have been slightly improved with the air conditioning regularly turned on. This is more of a suggestion for the hostel to keep the air conditioning on for a set amount of hours during the day. Although I do understand the need to save energy. Another suggestion could be to have chairs and seating on the roof, but you can easily carry chairs upstairs. There really wasn't anything major to dislike.

I loved my stay at this hostel. The staff really made my experience enjoyable and relaxed. They arranged an auto pick up when I got off the bus, and offered me recommendations for the area, as well as providing very useful tips on Matrimandir visiting times. They were genuinely nice to chat to as well. I stayed in a 5 bed female dorm. The room was basic, but had everything you needed. There was a fan in the room and an air conditioning unit (although this was not switched on). There was also hot water in the showers. The hostel had a cool chill out room, and also a rooftop where you can watch sunset. Although it was cloudy when I was there. The hostel can also provide breakfast at a small cost, although I didn't have it. There is also a puppy and couple of lovely cats roaming around! The location was fantastic - 15 min walk to the visitor centre, a small shop and cafe next door, and restaurants within a 15-20min walk.

Hostel is in a superb location. Scenic view of the lake and nature from the terrace. Really enjoyed my stay. Delicious food prepared by Akka. Room had a decent space, AC, hot water. Comfortable stay. Very friendly owner and staff. They suggest places/events to visit around

I stated at funk monk and had an absolutely wonderful experience.They took care of me from the moment I arrived at the pondicherry .. Krihsna brother not only provided the basic customer services ,he did his best to ensure the travellers who don't know the place well to have a pleasant trip . The staffs were very friendly and helpful and they ensured hygienic food and cleanliness of the place .The location of this place was amazing with beautiful sunset ,sunrise points from terrace with nature giving us visual treat and the lake view in the evenings.The common place was so peaceful and I had opportunity to meet many new people .The overall standard of the hostel and the exceptional service from the staffs was second to none .I will certainly be staying here again ❤️❤️.

Only negative was the other guests who were staying in my dorm. They arrived both nights after 12am, but besides that I slept really well.

Great location to Auroville. Great value for money. I stayed in the mixed 4 bed dorm. Krishna the owner was fantastic in recommending places to eat nearby. The rooms were clean and the aircon was great. Can rent scooters for 350 rupee too. Laundry is also available. Plenty of water bottle filling stations too. Hot water was great in the shower.

The place was super nice, and the room we stayed in was called "Peace." You've gotta check it out because it has one of the coolest sunset views ever! It's like the lake is glowing with golden light—it's magical!

Sometimes i felt like, The Owner was bit rude towards the staff. I mean, okay but it still felt bad. Otherwise, i loved the place. Will go back once i come back to Auroville

The Place was good. I went in Off Season, so no other travelers like me were there. Place has 2 kitten, Tira and Misu, they are sweet. Krishna, the host, was very friendly. Place gives in house Breakfast Lunch and Dinner too, and Amma makes amazing food. Property has terrace so, sunrises and sunsets are easily visible.

One thing I'd suggest is to have more desks/side tables in the rooms as it makes storage easier.

My partner and I loved our stay at Funk Monk Hostel. Krishna, who runs the establishment, is incredibly helpful as are the rest of the staff at the hostel. The rooms were very clean and all the basic facilities like A/C, washrooms, hot water etc. were functioning properly and in good condition. I especially liked the "no outside slippers" rule inside the hostel because it shows a commitment to maintaining cleanliness here. Jogee, the in-house dog, and the cats that call the hostel their home is a beautiful addition to the space. They also serve clean, fresh food which was an added bonus.
