Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Spain-breakfast is ok but could be improved. If you arrive a little bit late, lets say 9.30 am, they dont refill it, and food is cold already. -I woundt say the hostel area looks safe, much less at night. Anyways nothing happened to me as a female solo traveller.
-Staff are super nice, they try to solve things for you. -the hostel is like an Oasis in the middle of the city. Pictures are accurate. Is nice to finish your day hanging in the common area here. -clean comfy beds, really good hot water pressure in shower (it means a lot in India!). The hairdrier in the female room is such a nice touch -drinkable water

United KingdomThe shower was cold, WiFi could be patchy at times. The location is a bit outside the buzz of Bandra, but tuk-tuks are everywhere, making it easy and cheap to get around.
The room was clean, tidy, and a good size, the hostel had a few great common areas for mingling and relaxing. The staff were helpful and even assisted us with booking tours directly from reception.

United StatesThe room itself was not nice: room looks rundown, top bunk is extremely close to the ceiling (which is unclean) and even for a short person there isn't room to sit up, the bunk ladder is uncomfortable to climb, separator curtains are grimy, top bunk had a weird smell (unclean sheets or proximity to ceiling?) Bathroom is a wet room: The bath mat is gross and they don't allow sandals in the room. Mosquitos: seem to be getting in through gaps in the bathroom and dorm door. No mosquito nets, but there are two fans that were moderately helpful- still got bit even with odomos. The rooms should be nicer for guests. The changes would go a long way in making the stay for comfortable for guests.
Fun backpacker vibe: large common spaces, community events (potluck and outdoor movie screening), guests mingled but were also respectful of quiet hours Solid wifi Female-only dorm with safety code to enter: bunks have an outlet and curtains Good location in Bandra West, but also close to the airport: safe, easy to get cars/autos, not as close to tourist attractions, but nearby some good restaurants and shops. Note that the Google maps location does not take you to the front entrance- it's a little around the corner, but there is a large sign. Cheap option for solo travellers

IndiaThe only drawback was the water mixing up with sewage water due to rain created an odd smell in the water
The property is ideally located for me to move around other parts of Mumbai easily.

IndiaThe Snobbish behavior of the Management. Treating guests differently. Courteous staff is what the Hospitality industry requires but this seems to be working in Hammock only with a few guests. Why the difference in treatment?? 1.Inspite of directly visiting the property and Requesting to be given a Lower Bunk and additionally putting in a request while making the booking for the same was still given an upper bunk because of which I am going through tremendous amount of pain due to a ligament tear. 2. Lower Bunk was available but was still not allotted till the next day. 3. Manager was very persistent on me making the payment when i had already informed of the technical issue. And because i was not in the condition to get down from my upper bunk i requested them to wait for sometime till i could get off the upper bunk but was not given time stating reasons such as other guests were waiting and she couldn't receive others payment because mine was pending. After making the payment within the next 20 mints i tried reaching them to check about the status of my payment but was not informed till i went out and had to check my self after a couple of hours. 4. Requested for tissue paper while having dinner and was given Toilet paper roll to use. 5. Comparing the Hostel to nearby Hostels. opinions coming directly from the management. Your guests don't care whats bad or good in other places. Try to improve what you can offer. 6. Treating foreign guests differently while only on their requests the AC would go ON or the toilet paper refill in washrooms.
Spacious and very Minimalistic.

Hong Kongmy black t-shirt was stolen on drying hanger at 9am. no security camera in hostel. I returned 2 days later to return the locker key and they gave me back my missing t-shirt. I wished they have called me or messaged me once they found it. The hostel location is far from public transportation like train or metro. U need tuktuk/auto or taxi.
spacious room, different breakfast everyday. the boss offered us a can of beer. I was expecting the outside area to be more developed. The bed price matches European hostels, but the outside condition doesn't. Later I learned that Mumbai is just broken roads everywhere.

IndiaWe were in mixed dorm where the other occupants were single men. Normally that should be fine but one person was lying around in a towel in plain sight, which makes things a bit awkward.

IndiaWorst stay, I ever experienced as a backpacker; puking since morning. Public washroom smells better than this place. **Seriously - very very bad dead fish smell all day** I tried to give them feedback on private text, and the owner lady got furious on me... I wish they would disclose this on the portal, god save you if you are vegetarian and check-in accidentally. Feels like scammed, at similar or low cost go other property worth every penny.
Aesthetically converted dharavi kinda slum homes temporary tin structure into the hostel.
