Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe beds were not the most comfortable and the floors of the room/stairway to the hostel could be cleaner (lots of stray dogs that would be asleep on the stairs when leaving/returning to the hostel).
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly for recommending local areas to eat and assisted us in booking trains/cars to other cities, i.e. car to Taj Mahal, train tickets around India, etc.

Czech RepublicThe bathroom could have been cleaner (it was okay but in Europe the bathrooms are just squeaky clean). Also, there was some trash in front of the entrance and it lay there for days.
The staff were very helpful and nice.

AustraliaClean hostel with very friendly staff members. Free water. Nice rooftop terrace. Location is in a pretty safe suburb… only a bit far from Centre (but metro station 3 mins walk away - 30rupees to get to centre in 15 minutes)…

GermanyYou have to climb up 3 floors to get to the hostel and the stair's steps are a bit small and slippery... I slipped a few times and the last time I ended up hurting my ankle. It would be great if they could add some anti-slip tape or something. The air conditioning is ok but a bit old and it was a bit noisy, I think it could be improved. Additionally, it would be super nice if they sell drinks and snacks at the hostel so you don't have to go out and cross the streets to buy them.
The location of the hostel was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. I really enjoyed my stay and can totally recommend it! :)

United StatesIt was a pleasant stay. Despite the fact that I was only there for one day, I found the atmosphere to be calm and composed. The terrace was nice, and the manager was friendly. When I return to Delhi in the near future, I will undoubtedly visit this location.

FranceIt doesn't look like the pictures at all. There is no terrace, no commun areas to share with guests. The reception is always empty. There is no breakfast available. It's more of a hotel than a hostel, so if you're looking for an hostel vibe this is not the place.
I had a private room which was very big and comfortable. The receptionist was nice to me and gave me recommandations of places to go when I arrived.

Indiathe deluxe room is not as shown in images, its very small no window (other room is also unfurnished untidy and with a very small window, claustrophobic) ,nightmare for anyone, can trigger claustrophobia. for only one day I got an upgraded room out of 2 days and next day manager told to shift in the deluxe (claustrophobic room) .The noises from common area (day1)some ppl shouted like crazy so loud (3rd class crowd like goons) disturbing till 2 am at night out of the so called upgraded room. The personal and professional boundaries are missing in manager and staff. They extend booking ,change it all as per their will n whims ,the staff ...so rude they almost denied for shifting my luggage to new room next day. Also some ppl who happen to be the regular guest (or friends of manager) behave as owner of the property and give us directions or answer desk queries. They reserve the room shown in image for the ones who visit there regularly for whatsoever reason and the poor rooms are left for those who actually come checking the images on the site. P.S.: no remote for AC, poor condition. better to use their dorm if necessary instead of wasting money on deluxe room

GermanyThe rooftop has already seen better times; the bathroom wasn’t clean and smelly. The room had a bad smell, as it was directly connected to the bathroom and neither the bathroom nor the dorm had a window.
Staff is very welcoming and supportive.

IndiaThe room booked was not provided and that mentioned that it's a premium room and can't be provided for this booking amount. The other room provided was not maintained well. The bath did not have a tap and just had a shower. Washbasin was leaking and room was all damp. Despite being a no smoking property, people would smoke. My stay was including breakfast but they were not available to provide breakfast by even 10 am. The property contact number is switched off post 10 pm.

United KingdomIt felt like we were invading a house where friends hang out & we weren't entirely welcome. Poor communication - on Sunday breakfast was from 8am but on Monday not until almost 10am with no signs up to explain why. Lots of negative signs saying what NOT to do in the hostel; only 1 fresh water dispenser for the whole hostel, no hot drinking water & only 1 minute of hot/warm shower water. Guys, you could do really well at this place but you're a bit lazy on customer care!
Really close to Saket metro & the street markets. Spacious room with lots of light & own shower room. Good communication on WhatsApp immediately after the booking. Safe gated community. Paratha & Chai for breakfast on 1st day

IndiaI lost my stuff worth rupess 20000 here. Initially someone stole my stuff worth rs 3000 so I was told that I should’ve been more careful with my stuff, okay, I agree. BUT, I couriered my stuff from Varanasi to this hostel to keep and when I arrived to get my stuff, it was stolen, boys who work there were responsible for that as they told me they will keep my courier safe. It had a lot of stuff I bought from Varanasi like saares and all also my puma shoes worth 5k. Everything was stolen. Guy name Ashish (who left this hostel now) was the one who received my courier and kept it but he was gone before I arrived and other guys just refused to agree that they knew about it except for one guy. That stuff was worth around 15-20k and it was all gone. I would never go there and if you do, please take care of your stuff. It’s more of like a thief market than a hostel.
Not sure about it

IndiaI recently spent five days at Hide In Hostel and ended up extending my stay for an extra day because of the fantastic vibe and the friendly staff. The atmosphere is welcoming, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers, and I've made so many new friends during my visit. The food was delicious, adding to the overall experience. Shivam, the manager, and Shrey were incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with anything I needed. If you’re looking for a sociable place to stay with great food and an inviting environment, I highly recommend Hide In Hostel!
