Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRoom was too dark. It had a window but it was so dirty little light came in and it only looked at a brick wall anyway. (You can't have everything - and lighting as good and it was a very quiet room for the area.) Sheets seemed clean but were threadbare. Bathroom was relatively clean by Indian standards but sink area was typically grotty - e.g. old toothpaste and/or soap splashes on mirror and tap. Yuk. Was a bit musty but there's been worse. No squeegee for floor - so you get wet feet if you use the bathroom after using the shower. You had to ask 20 minutes in advance to get hot/warm water. Couldn't get TV to work but not a priority for me. Wifi stopped working on my last night which was inconvenient as I was waiting for travel info and there was no mobile reception in the room. Again, it is a price quality trade-off: not a great place but OK and a good transit location. Note: I went to get the airport express at 5 am and found a huge mob of people at entry gate 5 and had to wait 30 minutes and endure a stampede. Turned out they wanted to go in another direction. There is probably a better entry to use for the airport express!!!
Stayed 3 nights while waiting for a flight. Had stayed before so knew what to expect. It's a trade-off between price and quality. Check-in was smooth. Staff I dealt with were OK. I asked in advance for a quiet, dark, clean room and that's largely what I got. Living area seemed clean. Bed clothing was clean if worn. Room had usual facilities - fan, TV, kettle, chairs, AC (I think). Lighting was good. Wifi good when on. Hot water when on. Towels seemed laundered if grey. Room service available but didn't use. Lounge area in foyer with papers. Accepted credit card payment! And without surcharge! The street outside is what it is: it's busy, noisy and littered: it's India. Lots of other 'hotels' and 'restaurants' and food stalls nearby (more near the station) but don't vouch for quality or hygiene. 'Brahmins' across the road had big serves at least. Vagabond Cafe attracted a lot of foreigners. Close to New Delhi railway station and metro, including airport express (10-15 minutes walk). Wandered to Jama Masjid and Chandi Chowk in 30-40 minutes. Overall it's OK but it may depend on the room.

United KingdomDreadful Hotel. Made the reservation through Booking.com for a executive en suite with a city view. Upon arrival I was in told I had been upgraded to a better room?? After being shown the room it was more of a down grade. Insisting they honor the booking I was eventually shown to another room. I had to request they change the stained bed sheets and pillows. The duvet cover looked like others had slept under it, creased and very used. Paint was hanging off the walls. The city view was a s-ity view. The ensuite toilet was a lovely shade of yellow, mostly historical urine stains..The wash basin and surround was filthy with soap scum all over in layers. The hotel reception staff were disinterested, full of excuses and after much insistence finally resolved the problems. Beware of this Shoddy hotel and the disrepectfull attitudes. Fortunately in Arakashan road, there are a choice of hotels, the Ajanta and Goodwin Grand are a couple I checked out and offer clean en suite rooms with good facilities and restaurants. I would also recommend the Brahim pure veg restaurant for a delicious selection of freshly cooked meals and snacks. On the plus side New Delhi railway station is also very close, just a 10 minute walk.
