Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe location was right next to a highway which spoilt the ambience a bit. The wifi was not great in the rooms and kept cutting out regularly. We also noticed that where there were two cottages attached to each other, if one cottage had the shower on, and the cottage next door put their shower on, the water in our cottage went off. There should be sufficient water for both showers to run at the same time. On one of the days, at the beginning of our staff, there was a wedding reception, right outside our room. The music was very loud - so loud that the heaviness of the beat made the windows in our cottage rattle. The music was supposed to stop at 10pm, however it kept coming on every few minutes for the next hour or so.
The resort itself was good, mostly kept clean by the many gardeners and cleaners. The staff were especially friendly, kind, and helpful in all areas, from cleaners, maintenance, security guards, reception to restaurant staff. Reception staff were particularly helpful in arranging food for my sister who had some health issues. The cottage was large - spaced out over two floors and a big bathroom. There was a fridge and plenty of water, kettle, tea/coffee etc. Bathroom had plenty of toiletries. The swimming pool was of a decent size to swim lengths. The opening time was a little late - 8am, although the staff were fine with me going in a little earlier so that I could swim before breakfast. Uber services were good in the area and we were able to get ubers to Marine Drive, the Lulu Mall and various other places. While everything was kept meticulously clean in the cottage by the staff, from an eco-friendly point of view, I would suggest that bars of soap did not need to be changed every day. Also noticed that the cleaning staff were changing the bed linen every day, which while it was very nice, we thought, from an eco-friendly point of view, that it could have been done every 2 days (for people who stay longer).

United KingdomIt's a shame the hotel did not have a license for alcohol - but the staff arranged for a delivery of a few beers for us to enjoy in our rooms or veranda.
Great hotel/resort - good location for airport and Fort Kochi, we used Uber to nearby water metro to visit Fort Kochi save long taxi journey. Both restaurants serve good food - the seafood restaurant does a great Seafood Thali - see my photo! Rooms are big and clean - very relaxing after staying in the busy cities!

United KingdomOverall maintenance of the property and the surrounding area could be keep more cleaner. The rooms really need some TLC, the bathroom toilets need to be upgraded as it’s not very functional. And other little things like the amenities such as fishing, archery and bikes all need to be upgraded. It’s just little maintenance that need to be looked at to improve the quality of the stay. Buffet should have more options. The pool also looked not so safe to swim as the surrounding area wasn’t maintained properly.
The staff was very friendly and attentive. The communal games hut was very good and would be great for kids too. The nearby seafood restaurant was really good and nicely set up. Location is also good set away from the city area and yet not too far from it.

United StatesWe really enjoyed our stay here! It was so pleasant and relaxing. We were traveling as a family (2 adults and kids ages 3 and 7) and stayed in one of the poolside cottages. We loved our stay! They arranged a boat tour for us that left right from the resort and was so delightful! Nihara is in a part of Kochi that is not overly built up, so on the boat tour we saw fisherman really working and didn’t see another tour boat! We really felt like we were getting a view of life on the Kadamakkudy islands. On the resort there was a playground that my daughters really liked. The staff was lovely and helped my girls out when they didn’t know how to use some of the equipment. They were able to do a little fishing and even got to practice a little archery! Breakfast was nice and we enjoyed the food at both restaurants. We really liked the seafood restaurant -it has a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend Nihara!

QatarSound insulation is poor. You can even hear the other cottage inhabitants coughing or taking bath from our washroom. Bedroom is slightly better. Wifi was out for a day during our stay. When we mentioned it in the reception they said it was an issue by the provider. While on check-out when I highlighted the issue they mentioned they could have provided a dongle device for Internet, which was not offered when i highlighted the issue. Telephone in our room was not working. I initially struggled to lock the door since it is an old knob type. Wish they could highlight it while checking in to save time.
A peaceful and beautiful hotel. We stayed at the cottage. The cottages are very comfortable and have that traditional charm. Spacious bed, spacious clean and well designed washrooms. Very tasty food at the multi-cuisine and seafood restaurant. The view of the back waters. The E-auto for internal transport The kids play area was great, my kid loved it.

United KingdomDisplaying caged birds is totally unnecessary, particularly when you’re surrounded by so many wild species. Stop doing this and the place would be perfect.
Peaceful (even though it’s child friendly). Wonderful natural setting (you wouldn’t know it’s near the main road). Large rooms. Comfortable beds. Amazing Ayurvedic spa treatments. Good, reasonably priced food at the fish restaurant. The pool also looked good but unfortunately we didn’t get time to use it.

Francethe location is a little bit far from the old city but it may be considered as an advantage if you want to escape for the evening and night the noise and crowd and dust of downtown......and just enjoy the greenery and the fresh air from the river
The extremely well maintained garden, the "sunset" point with a beautiful view on the river The large, well equipped room The very comfortable bed The manager was especially friendly, went to great lengths to fulfill the slightest of our requests....and always succeeded The seafood restaurant with fresh fishes, shrimps, lobsters etc....we just miss a glass of white wine to go with the exquisite food...... If you have kids they have plenty of space to play, bikes are available The board can organize a lot of activities for you
