Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe front room where we ate never had the curtains open and this made the room quite dark and dingy. I would have preferred the option of being able to make card payments. Secure WiFi should really be a priority. Weak security is not acceptable.
The property was in a quiet residential gated area in South Delhi. It was clean and comfortable. It was only a 10 min walk to the metro and there were good links to all the major tourist sites as well the New Delhi Train Station and the Airport. All meals were vegetarian and dinner was reasonably priced. There was no choice. The family was always willing to help and offer advice and recommendations and Sagar in particular was happy to help and talk and was easily contactable by email prior to the stay and WhatsApp when we stayed. Sagar was very approachable. He also provided a walking tour of Old Delhi which we would recommend. As our first homestay this was a great introduction to family life and allowed us to settle in on what was our first few days of a long trip.

AustraliaNothing - all great
Like a home away from home. The Gupta family were so lovely and helped us navigate our way in Delhi with ease. Room was spacious, airy and well appointed with an awesome balcony which we used daily to unwind. Location was perfect - away from the hustle and bustle - in a quiet residential neighbourhood which felt 100% safe at all times. Breakfast was very special and we liked sitting around the table swapping stories and travel plans/ideas with the other guests and the family. Sagal was super helpful and knowledgeable. We did his guided half day Old District walk and street food tour which was just great. Another terrific option is to book a home cooked dinner which is only a little extra but well worth it. We LOVED our stay here and, as our first stop on our 7 week Indian adventure, this was the BEST and warmest introduction to this magical country.

United KingdomThe staff are exceptional here. Everyone was welcoming and explained the local area to me. My room was beautifully decorated, super clean and came with all the necessities - bottled water, towels, soap, maps, AC, and mosquito plug in. The balcony had a lovely view of the neighbourhood and it was in a safe, gated area. I left my purse my mistake after checking out and they cooperated with me efficiently to get my purse returned to me. I'm grateful for their fantastic hospitality and would love to return again. I wish I could stay in this cosy home longer!

United KingdomRemember that the street gates are locked after 11pm - if returning after this time you need to go to a different entrance
A brill homestay - particularly appreciated their help in booking a guided tour through old Delhi.

SerbiaAfter 11PM you can only access the gated neighborhood through one gate, but the map provided in the room (welcome folder) was not accurate, so make sure the owners show you the correct way. We expected a bit of a warmer welcome, as this is a family-owned place with the family living on the ground floor, but it felt more like a hotel.
Great location in South Delhi, in a nice residential neighborhood close to Hauz Khas market and the Yellow Line metro. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean. One of the rooms had access to a cozy terrace (shared with another room next door). There is also a well-equipped shared kitchen.

NetherlandsI love everything about this place. The family are incredibly kind and welcoming and made the most incredibly delicious dinner. I loved eating with them in their living room and getting to know more about them. The room was incredibly comfortable & clean plus of a large size with a balcony & the location was incredibly safe & convenient. I’ll definitely be back should I ever come back to Delhi!

United KingdomSome of the bathrooms were a bit wiffy and small. No ground floor rooms - not a negative - but good to know if you have mobility issues or lots if heavy bags.
A great find in Delhi. Location is perfect. Sagar and his family are wonderful hosts. Breakfast is home cooked and delicious. The rooms are clean and spacious. Sagar is very helpful with organizing taxis and guides. We were a large group and they made an effort to give us rooms together and also to cater to special dietary concerns. We will definitely stay here when we are in Delhi next.

PortugalLocation is very good in a closed gate road. However, you have to consider the time you arrive to make sure it is open. Our host warned us and promptly solved the problem.
Great location, in a ‘peaceful’ neighborhood of Delhi, with metro station nearby. Sagar and his family were amazing hosts, very helpful with all their tips. Accommodation was very clean. Good Indian breakfast.

United KingdomNot a hotel issue, but other residents arriving in the early hours and knocking on on doors not great and led to disturbed night. Need to respect quite after 1100.
Breakfast was excellent. Excellent cook and lovely Indian breakfast. Location was good. Ideally a taxi but the metro is only a short walk. Lovely family. This is a home stay so please do not expect the facilities of a top hotel. Enjoyed our stay.

Germany3 reasons why this is the best place to start your India trip and to stay in Delhi! - Location: Due to its central location, the homestay offers the perfect base to explore New and Old Delhi. The area is very safe and quiet. The nearest metro stop is only a 10min walk away! - Family: The Gupta family is very loving and welcoming. They know not only Delhi but also many other areas of India and can enrich your trip a lot. Whether it's sightseeing, culture or food, Sagar had the best tips ready. So you can concentrate on the experience and do not have to worry about much more! - Food: You have the possibility to be cooked for breakfast and dinner by Mrs. Gupta. There was something different to eat every day and it tasted phenomenal! Most of the time someone from the family also kept you company, which made the homestay experience even more special. After spending 3 nights in this wonderful homestay, I feel more than ready to explore India. I will definitely come again :)

United KingdomWe loved everything!
We spent our first 2 nights in India at Prakash Kutir. The guest house is in a lovely neighbourhood and is quiet and feels safe. There are interesting places to visit nearby, such as Hauz Khas Village and the Deer Park. It’s a nice break from the hurly burly of the rest of Delhi. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable and the terrace outside our room was a great place to sit in the evening. The family and staff were wonderful and the food was great.
